He had the new tightrope surgery instead of the screws to fix his ankle. Here is a really good video about it (scroll up to watch the actual video that is at the head of this article). butkus3595 what do you make of it all?

Syndesmosis With Tightrope LINK

Its a relatively new procedure...so there's not a ton to go by, but it should absolutely help him with the stability in the ankle joint...which is a huge concern. The added benefit is that there won't be another surgery to take screws out or replace broken screws, thus creating another period of rest and rehab.
