Well, I hope you are wrong about Scott. As soon as Mooney or Claypool get injured, I would like to see him in the starting lineup. I have seen enough of V. Jones. Scott can do anything he can do and more. I would cut Jones or Pettis.
I just doubt they're gonna give up on a 3rd round pick in Velus after just one season. The whole team was a dumpster fire in a tank year.
As I said, Scott has muffed a few punts in TC so far so I don't think he's a big upgrade thus far on STs.
I think Pettis will end up odd man out.
Scott’s main advantage over Jones is route running, not punt returning. You are probably right about Pettis, although I think he is a better receiver than Jones.

I have no illusions that Velus is ever gonna be a "starter" at WR. He's a Tedd Ginn/Cordarelle Patterson type of player whose role is gonna be primarily STs and gadget stuff. If he can do what those guys did, he will be fine. Otherwise, I suspect he will be gone in a year. No question that thus far he's Poles' worst draft pick considering round taken.
Scott OTOH I can see becoming a true weapon in the offense though I think that is at least a season away. He was/is a hedge against Mooney not bouncing back from a down year in 2022.

I am hoping Scott is the answer at slot receiver, and maybe sooner rather than later, if he can get on the field this season due to injuries or whatever. Otherwise, he can just replace Jones on ST, etc.
Maybe a PS guy if he can prove he's worth it in camp. "Ranks sixth nationally in yards per catch (20.6)...Leads the team in receiving yards (516), receiving yards per game (46.9) and receiving touchdowns" LINK.
