We already have 8 picks this year, We could afford a small trade down, but the bigger question is why is someone trading up to 9? I'm not sure the value is there to drop down and risk losing the best of DT/DE/OT/CB that you can get at 9.
Yeah, I think you're right. The trade value for a small trade down would probably pretty small anyway. And yeah, we have 8 picks in the top 5 rounds of this draft alone. And 10 picks overall... Poles has what he needs and just needs to have a great draft with these picks. I'm pretty pumped about it all.

It's a fair point. My decision tree would be this:
Is there an EDGE on the board I love right now (at #9)? If Yes, I'm taking him. Maybe it's Tyree Wilson or Van Ness. Yeah, you don't pass up Edge cuz those guys go quick. If No, then I'm willing to trade down. If I can get an extra 2nd or even 3rd and not hurt my value, sure I'll take it.
Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, teams don't draft RT's in the top-10. Not on purpose anyway. You can get a good RT much more easily than a good LT in the latter-1st and 2nd rounds. And it certainly looks like they have Braxton slotted in to play and develop at LT. It seems they don't want to move him.

If they are smart they could take an OT at 9, start them at RT, and if Braxton falters, it's not like he was great, can switch them.
but i tend to agree, if they could trade down though, to the mid teens it opens up RT.
