I went Pittman as we need a wr1 and potentially he could be one. OL/ DL can be had through FA and the draft, but wr talent is lacking in availability.
It's a fair point and I was torn too. If Pittman truly is that rising "#1 WR in the making" it's tough to pass on that. I just don't know enough about him to judge and don't see many Colts games.
He has put up ~ 90 recs and 1000 yards last 2 seasons w/o good QB play and is a 25 yo, 6' 4" beast who makes contested catches.
Anyone know more about him?
Even if not quite WR1 level, he’s a good possession receiver, which is something that would really help Fields develop those short timing routes with a WR who has the skills to run them correctly. But we don’t need him if Poles trades for D-Hop.

we don't need more possession wr's, that's what Harry, Petis and the future 32 pick in the draft is. They need someone that def will be scared of and have to gameplan for and possibly box or flat double team. Pitts ain't that guy.

Runs good routes, has very good hands...not the quickest of guys. A receiving corp of Pittman, Mooney, Claypool is pretty damn good IMO. Is Pittman Tyreek Hill? Nope. Not even close. But he's pretty good.

Well, in all fairness, Pittman >>> Harry/Pettis. Those latter two guys blow chunks and Pittman is a legit WR. He isn't Tyreek Hill but he's a rising talent. I'd still rather have Nelson in a draft trade and take my chances on finding a better WR.

That's my impression too.
I went Pittman. We never seem to find a WR#1. Worst case he is 2a and upgrade over Mooney. We need to see if Fields can pass consistently. If not next year we may need QB. As of now I think he can but little proof. He is Cutleresque.
Rather than eating dead cap for Whitehair why not move him back to OC.

I had not thought of that. Financially he will be tough to move away from this year. But I can't remember how good or bad he was at C now. My fear is that Lucas Patrick won't be let go due to him probably being Getsy's guy from the Packers. He has 1 more contract year here ('23).

If I recall correctly, he was fine at center. The last couple of seasons he’s broken down physically and it seems as if he may only have a couple years left.

Cutting Whitehair is a NET GAIN to the cap this offseason. He has dead money, yes, but the savings from releasing him are greater.
I suspect Patrick is more likely to survive as a backup C/G than Whitehair is. He's younger and cheaper.

Patrick is younger, cheaper, and worthless. Same can be said for some others still under contract.
