I agree. I think (A) is the best option. The Cardinals are going to get Anderson under this scenario, but Carter is the perfect fit in the Eberflus defense. He can get a DE with one of the other picks.
The Raiders are such clueless organization that I would definitely get them on the phone and try to fleece them.
Talked about that possibility over and over. Raiders are a perfect target at #7 cuz they have made it clear they're moving on from Carr (I'll wager you a lot of $$$ he will be traded, even if for a pittance) and they appear to be starting a rebuild. To move down to #7, I want pick #38 (high 2nd) plus Davante Adams. That would value Adams as roughly a mid-1st rounder which seems reasonable to me considering the Bears are picking up his big contract.
And I don't care about Adams saying he's content to stay in Vegas--that's just fodder for public consumption and probably BS. He's good buddies with Carr and has no loyalty to Vegas now that Carr is heading out of town.
In fact, that's my formula for most trade scenarios. Rather than equalizing things with future year(s) picks, I'm demanding a PLAYER I need right now. If Detroit is interested, probably not but its possible, I don't want both their FRPs (which btw is still 500 points short of value). I want one of them plus a 2nd plus a player. If they won't part with Hutchinson, then I want Amon-Ra St Brown. If they won't part with either, then go pound sand as you aren't winning a SB with Jared Goff, despite him playing better this year.
Raiders are one of most poorly run organizations in the NFL — a prime candidate to overpay for a QB.
For some reason I can't figure out how to add a pic from my phone, I usually use tapatalk but there seems to be an issue with it and our site.
I did what I mentioned in some thread. I traded #1 for the #2 pick. Then traded that for the #6 pick and what I haul I got lol.
#6 DT Jalen Carter #12 EDGE Tyree Wilson #18 OT Peter Skoronski #33 WR Rashee Rice #51 OC Sedrick Van Pran #55 LB Tommy Eichenberg #59 WR Marvin Mims #64 RB Sean Tucker #120 OT Carter Warren #135 TE Luck Schoonmaker #158 CB Noah Daniels #196 S Sydney Brown #199 OG Brandon Kipper #207 LB Shaka Heyward
I also got a Det 1st, Hou 1st and Cle 1st next year. I mostly drafted BPA but I did reach a bit for a position I knew was needed more so. I used a site called PFN mock draft Simulator and had fun at work lol.
Those draft simulators are just toys. They operate in alternative universe,

I agree. But they are a lot of fun and I do enjoy them. And personally it has some value to me because it forces me to look up these guys' draft scouting reports and watch some of their film. I get to know a lot of the players that way for the first time. Even though most go to other teams I still enjoy knowing a bit about the incoming rookie class. But yeah, it's a toy for the off season for me.
How important is the TE unit upgrade this year? Kmet is okay, but he is only under contract for '23. And the other TE's on our roster don't look so hot to me. As important as WR's are to a franchise QB, I think having great TE play is about as important. A great TE unit is pretty powerful to have. If we trade down I'd be open to getting a TE if one that is special falls to us. Especially since it seems like it takes a few years for a TE to learn the game at the NFL level.

Not that important IMO. We have bigger fish to fry.
I'd be looking to sign a solid mid-tier vet like Gesicki or Hooper in FA if possible and maybe add a late round pick for the future.

Poles was very complimentary of Kmet in the presser earlier today and seemed sincere so I imagine he's in line for an extension this offseason. If that happens I can't imagine too many resources will go into that position this offseason with all of the other major holes to fill.

Too many more important needs to draft a TE before round 4.

The reason I brought it up is that it looks like elite WR1 talent does not exist in this draft. But there does seem like there could be a top-tier TE available in a trade down. I look at what elite TE's have provided some of the best QBs in recent years (Super Bowl winning teams included). I would be okay taking an elite TE over a mediocre WR if the draft fell to us in a good way that would make that possible.

I ruled out Johnston last night. He is at best no more than WR2. They had him covered like a blanket.
I want to take a shot at WR1 at #35 from the Colts. You can’t get a hit if you don’t give it your best shot — maybe Boutte or Rice. There are about 3 others I expect will go ahead of them. It might not work, but gotta try, especially if he doesn’t trade for a veteran WR1 in free agency or the draft. Since you are focused on Fields, another TE really doesn’t help much.
