I would like to thank Pace for not trading all the Bears picks until the heat death of the universe on Zach Wilson.
I know we are all frustrated by the missed Mitch Trubisky pick, and general poor first rounders from his era but they have had to go from back to back #2 overalls on Darnold and Wilson.
Pace tried to screw over the Bears on his last year with the team by flirting with Wentz and Russell Wilson, and I know he tried to trade up to get Mariota in the past. He managed to get it right on his way out the door, proving that even a blind squirrel can find a nut.

So true
I think we got the best QB of the 4 that were taken in the 1st round that year. Pace did not succeed as a GM in team-building, particularly in the early draft but he may have made his best move last.
Amazing how many major QB names are failing hard this season--Wentz, Russell Wilson, Zach Wilson, Mayfield, Ryan, even Rodgers.

If the Bears lock down the #2 pick, I want them to scalp it to a team desperate for a QB. IMO, if they can get someone on the hook for a bunch of high value picks, that's better than a possible superstar at the moment.
