Whether Cousins pulls off that feat or not, the starting point for contract negotiations, per Rapoport, will be the $23.94 million that it would cost the Redskins to apply the franchise tag for the second straight offseason. If McCloughan balks at that annual rate, Cousins' camp will point to the ample salary-cap space of quarterback-needy organizations such as the Browns, Jets and Bears.

Does this article mean I don't have to put down the crack pipe?
Keep posting the Kool Aid threads though. Seriously. It's even okay to do like BIH and make shit up (he has that MSU degree you know). Anything that can keep us from jumping off the ledge this year is much-appreciated.
This is a really really tough season to endure. And I am running critically low on my Kool Aid about now :-)

Cousins was always a long shot to end up in Chicago. It could happen if Pace decides to solve the QB that way. Remember he (Pace) came up through the NO system and they didn't draft their QB. Brees was a FA. It will be more costly than drafting qb which would/might impact other FA signings.

That's what we said in 2014. And 2015. So many Déjà vus...
