1. Paris Johnson 2. Ade (maybe need to move up to get him) 3. Luke Wypler
He made the point that you get some synergy out of Fields, Wypler, and Johnson all Ohio State guys. After hearing his explanations, I am 99% sure it will be Johnson at #9. For me, the excitement will be whether we can also get Adebawore. I really want this guy for 3-tech now that Carter will be gone before #9.

I'd take that top 2 in a heartbeat. And I agree that more and more I'm thinking PJJ is gonna be the #9 pick.
Jalen Carter is completely off my draft board if I'm Ryan Poles. Ok, maybe if he's there in the 3rd I'll take him but no freaking way in the 1st round. He might become a great player and he might be Albert Haynesworth 2.0 too. This guy is clearly NOT a "HITS guy" that Flus loves. Hopefully he grows up, cleans up his act, and develops a proper football-first work ethic. No way I'm taking that risk at the outset of a rebuild when I can't afford to miss with lots of holes to fill.
And, no, I don't give a crap if Seattle or Detroit or whoever gets him. He can be THEIR headache when he loafs and shows up to camp 20 pounds overweight and too winded to practice. NO thanks.

Bears are flying him to Chicago for a private workout and interview. But you have nothing to worry about, because he will be gone before #9. I will be sweating on April 27 until the Seahawks take him so Lions can’t.
Poles will take into account that Carter is a human being suffering mentally/physically for the last 60 days, knowing he participated in that fatal drunken drag race.

Risks like drafting Carter can be career killers for a GM. No way am I taking him if I’m Poles as we can’t afford a miss with such a high draft pick.

There are two ways to miss. The other one is Lions take him and he becomes All Pro. That IMO is more likely. As a Seahawks fan, I’m hoping the Hawks draft him.

You can say this with ANY player we may pass over. Can't sweat stuff that has already happened. If you truly feel this way then why not trade ALL our picks for vets?

I read this three times. I can’t make sense of it. Don’t you think it’s fair to say Pace “missed” by drafting Trubisky instead of Mahomes?

As long as the Bears have a long term quality player then you take that risk. B/c as of now there are equally as many reasons to think he busts as he becomes an all pro for them every year.
More people were cold on Clowney w/out the negatives and he's now on his 4th team in his 9th year, and has 1 all pro, 2nd team selection. Hell Suh was an absolute stud for the Lions, the guy you think Carter will be, and he was on his 2nd team 4 years later. Suh was also a massive headcase.

Suh was the opposing player you loved to hate :-)
Gotta admit though that he was a holy terror (just one crazy-mean man for sure... break a QB like a child breaks a toy). The foot-stomp thing was so "Suh" - yeah, loved to hate that dude but he was sure one to fear. He physically beat up Cutler bad. Real bad, so many times.

All of that true, and he was on another team in 4 years and has been for 4 or 5 teams in his career.
Talent that gets passed around that much is like the perfect ten that is always single, there is a reason someone walked away.
