FWIW, PFF's top-50 FAs:
(They have Meyers and JuJu as the top WRs plus Schultz and Gesicki as top receiving TEs)

MP, what jumps out at me whenever I read these top FA lists each year, is how many of them are like Meyers. Guys who were not even drafted, or late round draft picks. Each year you see these guys as coveted players in FA. Yeah, Meyers wasn't even drafted at all. Now he is a top-10 overall player in FA, and arguably the #1 FA wide receiver. I'd be fine if Poles would sign him (or JuJu). But over time I'd like to see Poles draft these guys. We really have one in Mooney, a 5th round WR who is not a WR1 but a pretty darned good receiver. Getting Braxton Jones in the 5th is a grand-slam draft move if I ever saw one. David Montgomery is a pretty solid pick for 3rd round.
LOL, I know I'm getting off topic here but every year at this time (talking about the FA's) I think that if we can really draft well - and consistently well - then that is what is going to make or break the team. buying your talent at full-retail prices in FA is just not sustainable for long-term success (talent wise and also financial wise). And riczaj01 has talked about this by saying over the years that the more picks you have the more opportunities you have to get hits. I think you have mentioned this (I think it was you) that FA's are really poor value overall. Often you overpay for what you get. Sure, there will always be a need for FA's. But I do want Poles to build primarily through the draft for our core players... our studs.
But sometimes we need to overpay. This is probably one of those years. Get what you can in FA at WR. And I would LOVE to see the Bears also draft a WR in the 2nd round this year.
On a side note. There are a number of really solid OL guys to look over in that FA class this year. We may get someone (or a couple of someones) who can be a real upgrade this year. Still draft OL. But supplement that in FA.
