NO. 5: AARON RODGERS COMPLETES PASS TO RANDALL COBB FOR FIRST DOWN The scene - Packers: 10, Bears: 7. Packers have the ball 3rd-and-8 from the Bears 22-yard line. 6:05 left in the second quarter.
NO. 4: AARON JONES SCORES ON TAP PASS The scene - Packers: 10, Bears: 7. Packers have the ball 2nd-and-5 from the Bears 8-yard line. 4:40 left in the second quarter.
The play - Jones lines up as the Z-receiver, then motions across the middle of the field in time to catch a quick tap pass from Rodgers. The Packers block well up front, and Jones scores easily.
(This one I knew was coming as soon as Jones went in motion. Bears should have known as well. But I think Rodgers had other options depending on how the DEF reacted to the motion.)
NO. 3: JUSTIN FIELDS CHECKS DOWN TO DAVID MONTGOMERY ON THIRD DOWN The scene - Packers: 24, Bears: 7. Bears have the ball 3rd-and-10 from their own 22-yard line. 13:42 left in the third quarter.
The play - After working through his progressions, Fields opts to throw to Montgomery short of the sticks. Montgomery is immediately brought down and the Bears are forced to punt.
NO. 2: ROMEO DOUBS GAINS 20 YARDS ON SCREEN PASS The scene - Packers: 10, Bears: 7. Packers have the ball 2nd-and-28 from the Bears 42-yard line. 6:50 left in the second quarter.
The play - The Packers make the most of a wide receiver screen by blocking well to gain chunk yardage.
NO. 1: JUSTIN FIELDS STOPPED SHORT ON GOAL LINE RUSH The scene - Packers: 24, Bears: 10. Bears have the ball 4th-and-inches on the Packers goal line. 8:13 left in the game.
The play: The Bears run a QB draw out of the shotgun. Lucas Patrick pulls from right guard to help Cole Kmet at point of attack on the left side of the line, but the Bears can’t generate enough push and they turn the ball over on downs.
Food for thought: (not that anyone here would argue this point--expect those of us who still believe that DEF>OFF)
If I have time today between Pre-Alg and Alg2, I'll do one of these for the Bears.
So according to this, the most money the average NFL team spends is on OL, WR, then Edge and QB then the rest.
Bet that the Bears OL is not the highest paid on this squad, probably one of the lowest.
Some information that would be nice for the poster to have said would be: (1) Is this players currently on the roster (not counting IR) (2) I'd like to see dead cap (3) Is this starters only?
I'd also like to see a third column with the averages of the 4 teams that played in the conference finals for the past 3 years. Although, QBs that get extended out mess up the averages. Thats the biggest problem with using averages.

averages by themselves tend to be a bad option w/out looking at total #'s, but it's all we have to go by, and I'm 100% not going through the mess to figure it out

The Bears most highly paid player by far this year is a guy named Dead Cap.
That's not a joke. We are carrying $60m in dead cap this year to clear off the books.
Here's who you can blame for that in order: 1) Ryan Pace (obviously) 2) Matt Nagy (think Foles and Dalton which were his ideas) 3) George McCaskey (for not firing these two clowns earlier when it was clear their window was closed and a new QB was needed)

Some 'fans' always want to compare the Bears rebuild to other teams like Miami (this week as Tua threw 6 TDs) yet are oblivious to the fact that they aren't at the same stage of a rebuild. Multiple national reporters & analysts love to say Poles did nothing for Fields this off-season without looking at these details. Click-bait I guess and some 'fans' fall for it.
