Based off the initial list of cuts I wouldn't mind seeing these guys claimed:
Cooper Rush - QB Sean Mannion - QB Preston Williams - WR Juwaan Winfree - WR(Getsy has some knowledge having been with GB) Tyler Johnson - WR Kelvin Harmon - WR Blessaun Austin - CB Kemoko Turay - DE (Had 5.5 sacks last season playing for Flus in Indy)
Couple other interesting names...but those are the ones who jump out immediately to me.
Couple of surprising cuts for me tbh. Coulter, Camara, Evans and Coley 1st come to mind.
Two thoughts I had. First, I'll bet our practice squad will have the best young talent we've had there in years. And secondly, I think the roster will be churned a bit more. I don't think this is "it" yet.
Of course not. We aren't starting week 1 with only 2 TEs. The true "final 53" still isn't set yet.

+1 It's interesting that the Bears kept 2 fullbacks. Most teams don't have fullbacks anymore, and the Bears have 2. I think they are used in a quasi-TE way in this offense, as versatile receivers as well as blockers. And of course they can run the ball too. I actually like the fact Getsy's offense uses FBs.

I wonder who gets cut to make room for 6 more guys? Leatherwood sucks and I think will cost a lot of money — not sure about that. What happens to his big contract?
Edit: I checked it. He’s going to cost $5.9 million. He is a total misfit for the wide zone blocking business — slow as a slug!

I don't really get the Leatherwood claim whatsoever...but I'll defer again to Poles and Cunningham who played o-line. There is an article on the Athletic I need to finish reading which discusses Leatherwoods technical flaws and whether they can be fixed or not. For what its worth, I don't think Cable, who was the o-line coach with Gruden is a good coach, so that didn't help Leatherwood at all.
I like the Arman Watts claim a lot though. Will help the interior DL a lot.

Absolutely love the. Watts claim. The Viking fans online are in revolt over that cut! LOL

That was my initial reaction on Leatherwood, seemed like a big bust but saw Manyweather talking about predraft saying he needed two years to adjust and then his RAS score being very high like Jenkins. With all the cap space I'm okay with a reclamation project if Poles/Cunningham see something I'll be cautiously optimistic.

+1 I have no clue but I do trust that the Bears see something that makes them believe he can be salvaged and developed. The potential return on investment here is pretty high. If he doesn't work out here, it's not a huge deal. If this WOULD work out then that would be an incredible move. Yeah, I'm trusting the move was worth a try. It is one of those (fairly) low risk and (potentially) high reward things.
