Looking at the final 53 man roster, I think the biggest need is NOT wide receiver. It is slot corner. This is a very important position on the defense. The two guys we thought would be fighting for the job are Graham and Young, but neither is available. Graham was cut and Young was put on IR. That leaves only Vildor, Shelley, or As slot corner. Poles needs to do something about this.
The Bears reached the NFL's mandatory 53-man roster limit Tuesday by waiving 14 players, terminating the contracts of eight vested veterans and placing cornerback Tavon Young on injured reserve.
Six players who were waived appeared in regular season games for the Bears last season: receivers Isaiah Coulter (2) and Nsimba Webster (6), center/guard Dieter Eiselen (2), defensive ends Sam Kamara (8) and Charles Snowden (2); and cornerback Thomas Graham Jr. (4).
Others waived were running backs Darrynton Evans and De'Montre Tuggle; receiver Chris Finke; guard Lachavious Simmons; tight end Chase Allen; defensive tackle Micah Dew-Treadway; linebacker DeMarquis Gates and safety A.J. Thomas.
The eight vested veterans the Bears released were quarterback Nathan Peterman; guard Michael Schofield III; tackle Shon Coleman; defensive tackle Trevon Coley; defensive end Mario Edwards Jr.; cornerback Greg Stroman Jr., safety Davontae Harris and tight end James O'Shaughnessy (with a non-football illness designation).

I thought Kamara might stick. Finke was fun to watch.
I hope they see something in Vildor the rest of us don't. Graham last season was what... a fluke? Something else going on? Tavon Young going on the IR means they still want him to be the slot corner? Next 48 hours are going to be interesting.
Couple of surprising cuts for me tbh. Coulter, Camara, Evans and Coley 1st come to mind.
Two thoughts I had. First, I'll bet our practice squad will have the best young talent we've had there in years. And secondly, I think the roster will be churned a bit more. I don't think this is "it" yet.

Graham barely practiced or played this camp...I'm guessing they hope he makes it to the practice squad.
