I'm pretty disappointed in general, in general manager Pace. His drafts and FA(for def) are solid, and that's what this team needed, but he has done more to damage the O then help it w/how he's handled the draft and FA since he's been here. Slauson, Bennett, Forte, Marshal all are starters on this roster, before the injuries. Larsen, Whitehair, nor Grasu are beating him at LG or OC. We are learning real quick that w/out a back like Forte, the idea of getting short yardage/goalline plays is still near impossible w/that OL(not always Forte's fault even though people still claim it was), but they are limited in this ability to make something happen between the 10's.
I didn't think bringing in Fox was a good move, but I at least understood it, but I was really worried that he was go back to Lovie ball where the O wouldn't matter; and it sure to hell seems like that's what he did. And the D isn't far enough along to play that style; nor is it a good way to win and win long term.
Despite his off-field stuff, I hated the Marshall trade and said so at the time. That prompted the White pick (kinda doubt it happens with Marshall and Jeffery on the roster) which at this admittedly preliminary stage looks like a poor trade off. KW missed his entire first year and hasn't shown anything this PS other than that he can run fast in a straight line. He looks butterfingers and clueless out there so far. Yeah, I'd like to see SOMETHING from him to indicate that he's more than a college track star.
I understood the trade and pick at the time, but ya right now it's looking like a really poor move. I'm just starting to grow tired of Pace making way for his unproven draft picks to move into the starting spots w/out earning it. It's something that bothered me about Emery also.
Really makes you wonder why Pace didn't jump on Brian Stork after he was released by NE. The Grasu injury is starting to look pretty damaging. Larsen is a journeyman meh C/G who should be a backup only.
With plenty of cap space (and such deals generally being cheap) I'm really disappointed that Pace hasn't seen fit to add a C and CB.
My guess is because Stork is a bit of a head case which is why Belicheat let him go to begin with. The guy is walking time bomb who can't control his emotions and his temper and he'll be the one who'll get flagged for a PF right after a long TD pass or run and you end up taking points off the board. If he didn't fit into the discipline in NE has wasn't gonna fit here either.
They traded him to the 'Skins and last I heard he hadn't shown up at their camp yet and was thinking of retiring at age 26. Sorry but he sounds like way to much of a schizoid bonehead to me. We need to keep looking.

Fox and Pace need to put their big boy pants on and start dealing w/these "head cases" b/c sometimes those are your best options and better football players then the catholic boys choir they are trying to field as a NFL team.
Ric I completely disagree. You aren't gonna win games with bad boy because they'll hurt you on the field, **** up your locker room, and they'll hurt you off the field. Do you really want a DL made up of fools and misfits like Hardy, McDonald, and Ratliff or are we better off with who we have?
I understand your frustration because I'm frustrated by the lack of progress too but THAT isn't a solution and it never will be. Those guys will cost you more wins than they will ever gain you. When Bill Belicheat let's go of anyone you think you can use think again. The last guy he released for reasons like this who we signed was that Safety (can't recall his name) who was a thug, couldn't cover a tomato plant, and a walking penalty flag.
It's up to the coaches to either get these guys playing or move on to the next man and get him playing. This is more about a lack of preparation or a lack of OL talent in some cases and next week we should be combing the cuts to see if we can add anyone. I'm giving up on ever having that front five locked and loaded by game one. In fact it looks to me like we'll be struggling upfront for most of the year again.
Next spring Pace and Fox need to fix the OL for good because that offense is going nowhere until they do. Not even if you had Marty Bennett, Brandon Marshall, AND Matt Forte back.
I think I'd go on record about as saying that I'm starting to get pissed this team keep playing football like they all just met a week ago. Preseason is for getting your shit together offensively and defensively and at the very least playing your position as you've coached to play it. Half these guys look like they've been absent from class for the last month.
RRH nails the Chiefs QB just a split second before he releases an "air ball" 30 yards downfield and Dieondre Hall whose in coverage, and I use that term as loosely as his coverage, was somewhere around Racine when then play was in downtown Chicago. How can you let a guy get that wide open on was no more than a desperation heave to avoid a sack?
I dunno but for the very first time this summer I get the feeling that Fox, Fangio and Loggains need to sit down with these starters and primary backups this week and ask them if or when they're gonna decide to show up and play some football or whether they should just call the season off for them, forfeit 16 games, and all go home 'til next May.
Some of these guy are making far to many mistakes for this late in the preseason and a few more look like they don't care and just mailing it in. They CAN play better than this but just like much of last year they plainly aren't doing it. When you can't even win one preseason game at home that kinda sucks.
Plus losing Shaw for the season or maybe for good really has my blood boiling because now we are stuck with Hoyer and Fales.
Hall looks like he doesn't know there is an actual BALL involved in this game we call football rather than it being a Dancing With The Stars competition. I haven't seen the guy even once show awareness for when a pass might be coming and get his head around. Until that changes, he's gonna get lit up on back shoulder throws and be called for DPI on a regular basis. Frankly, outside of HJQ the whole secondary looks like total ass.
Yep. He's got a long way to go and I don't want to read yet another interview with him this week where he critiquing himself for it. I want to see him doing it. It's like these guys say and do the right things all week in practice then get in a game and look like they've never played football before. He wasn't within 10 yards of that guy who made an almost falling down catch o a poorly thrown desperation air ball. He should have been able to pick that one off and walk to he end zone for 6 points. That's just ridiculous stuff period.

Keep looking WHERE?
Cuts will be coming this week and then again after the 4th game. So THERE.
Like I just posted. I've given up on them resolving the OL thing before the season begins. We're right back where we were a year ago only this time it's OC where the problem is and not RT. This is far worse. The retirement of Ramirez and the injury to Grasu messed up the plan at OC big time and the injury to Long is only exposing the lack of depth we've never really had.

It's in the past now and we can't fix today or tomorrow by looking at yesterday. It probably bears repeating to say again that no team Brandon Marshall has played for has ever been a winner so whether you have him or you don't the results wouldn't be much different. We didn't win anything with both BM and AJ when we had both of them on the field so why should we believe we would now.
He was an expensive option who was wearing out his welcome like he's done after three years with every team he's ever played with starting here in Denver where the Donkey's never won anything when he was here either. I think they've been much happier with Demaryius Thomas whose pretty much a BM clone. And based on his lectures to the Jets front office on how they needed to re-sign Fitzy my guess is they aren't real thrilled with his big mouth right now either.
White's a rookie just playing his first games. Dial up the way back machine and go back and look at AJs rookie game films or BM's and you'd see much the same. Give it time.
The defense will be okay I think. The starting offense looks like a clown show right now. And the problems go beyond the OL right now. This was supposed to be the "dress rehearsal" game for the season. The starting O looks pretty bad.
You can't win games with 3-and-outs on offense. Hard for a D to overcome that.

Yep. If Loggains is such a demanding OC then he needs to either demand some guy get their heads out of their asses and into the game or send a few packing as a way of firing a warning shot over the bow of those who remain. This is pathetic offensive football.
