Which brings me to my oft repeated theory that they probably woulda had better results throwing darts at a dartboard . I'm sure some of you think I'm joking - I'm not ... the only 'joke' has been what the Bears have been for umpteen years .
I still wish they would sell the franchise. Nothing more frustrating than a stubborn ass clueless owner of a sports team. Look at the White Sox for further evidence.
I just don't think they will sell the franchise anytime soon. My hope is that we don't have to wait... and the Bears get lucky with a good head coach soon, who can turn the franchise around. I look at what 1 great coach can do for a franchise. Belechick was a failed losing coach fired by the lowly Cleveland Browns. New England gets him and he's going to the Hall of Fame after stocking their trophy case with Lombardi's. Even a blind squirrel eventually finds an acorn. I hope we find ours next.
"To be polite, let's just say nobody wants to see Loggains promoted over Fox. To be impolite, let's say — now that Cutler is injured and his tenure in Chicago is likely over — poor Loggains looks to be in serious trouble. It wouldn't be much of a surprise if the Bears tossed him aside given his confusing game plans."
The only reason Loggains is OC is because Jay wanted him there. Jay was gushing about how the two worked in the off-season together to craft an upgraded offense. Jay said they "kept what worked and together added some new plays" ... Jay actually wanted Loggains here earlier in his career.
Maybe it all happened for the best anyway though. I think Fox, Loggains and Cutler will be elsewhere next season and we can start out fresh. A re-start is the best I think at this stage.
Jay asked for Loggains as a QB coach but to the best of my knowledge other than it being somewhat of a given Loggains would take over if only because there were few other options and Fox felt it would provide continuity as well.......Oops, he never asked for Loggains as an OC.
I think Mully makes the point here that HAD Mularkey become available he may well have been hired but he wasn't. Gase to Loggains is exactly what Fox did in Denver when he promoted Gase to OC when McCoy got the HC at SD. So I'm gonna quarrel with you when you say that the ONLY reason Loggains is OC is because of Jay. It also follows the exact same pattern Fox did in Denver so Fox had his hand in this too.
I don't believe that's truth and it only serves to add to the myth that Jay has had far more say and influence on personnel and coaching decisions than he has. That's your opinion I know but it doesn't make it a fact.

"It was Cutler’s say in the matter that brought Loggains over as quarterbacks coach, then Cutler’s influence that guided the promotion. Cutler got his wish."
There are multiple sources on this. Not just the Emma piece above. Google it. I believe the only reason we have Loggains is due to Cutler wanting him. We will probably never know for sure anyway, so probably no point in worrying about it.
