you have 2nd, 3rd and 4th down to make the 1st...Howard is wide open and probably guaranteed to get at least 10 yards of the 29 needed as well as get out of bounds stopping the clock since they didn't have any timeouts left...and Jay shoots for the moon.
Immaculate hindsight. And yeah let's throw to the guy who hasn't been able to catch all game long. Ya' think maybe the trust level in Howard was a little low by then? If he does catch it he still needs to get OB or take it up field with no timeouts. Even if he gets 10 yds and goes OB we're still 2nd and long so at some point in time he has to go deep.
Once it gets to 3rd or 4th and long and they no longer have to respect a short pass the job just gets tougher. He had Wilson in man coverage with Collins behind the rest and his back foot slipped as he threw taking a lot off the throw. If that doesn't happen it's a jump ball throw to a 6'4" WR against a 6' FS and if he comes down with it they both get game balls.
Hoyer would have taken the easy toss and never would have taken a shot period so I'd rather have the guy with enough balls to risk trying to win the game than the guy who wouldn't risk it because it might **** up his stats.
Jeezus I'm prayin' Pace trades him so I don't have to read this kind of short sighted crap anymore and you all can bitch about the next guy for a change while I sit back and chuckle under my breath stifling my "I told you so's".
Jay made the decision on who to throw the ball too.
Just read my post to seqq so I don't have to say it twice OK?
If you all prefer a nutless wonder who doesn't take a shot at winning when he has 6'4"WR one on one with a 6' FS then I hope ya get him in 2017. We lost the Indy game because the nutless wonder who played that game wouldn't even attempt the pass to a wide open 6'3" WR so which way do you like losing? Trying to win or just trying not to lose and losing anyway?

Well this is where we disagree again Soul...Howard is going to the sideline already and there isn't a defender within 10 yards of him! ...IMO you take that guy already going to the sideline who has a chance of gaining 10+ yards with an easy sideline escape...gain yards, stop the clock and go from there. And don't give me this trust crap lol Wilson had 1 catch all game as well.
And Cutler's back foot didn't slip...in fact no foot slipped. I originally thought his left foot slipped, but it just gives a weird kick motion before planting that you can see better in regular speed. Almost like he over-stepped and hyper-extended at the knee. But his back foot drags, so we can put that excuse to rest
Well you got the guy who takes risks now and he has single handily loss two games in a row....YA!!!!!
So some how Hoyer gets a pass because he threw into triple coverage while Jeffery was wide open in the EZ for the game winning TD and the Bears lose. Buy Cutler throws a pick and the Bears lose. You guys do know that the Bears lost both games right? Do you not understand that the end result was the same? Let me double check just to make sure...yep...yep... Bears lost with Hoyer not taking a chance and lost with Cutler taking a chance. Well look at that. Personally I'd rather lose with a guy who wants to win versus a guy who is playing not to lose (which is kind of ironic considering they were already losing at that point.) But hey, at least Hoyer didn't throw a pick!! Good for him!!
Sometimes I wonder why I check certain threads when I see various posters names on them. Me thinks maybe the admission process slipped a little bit there for awhile. Feels like I'm back on dabears.com at times around here.
I don't mind disagreement, I just dislike stupidity posing as ....knowledge. Well, another thread I'm not checking again.
