Exactly. I blame the turf. His foot slipped as he was throwing causing an under thrown ball. The defender adjusted and came back for it, Wilson didn't turn soon enough.
I think it was a case of Jay's bad body-language. When he's running for his life he needs to show much better body language than that. LOL, I don't think Adams is gonna be on Jays' Christmas card list after that game :-)

The Steelers have had a bad OL for quite a while now and even they didn't want him anymore. That should have been a red flag right there. Even injury-prone Jake Long would've been a better choice at this point.
you have 2nd, 3rd and 4th down to make the 1st...Howard is wide open and probably guaranteed to get at least 10 yards of the 29 needed as well as get out of bounds stopping the clock since they didn't have any timeouts left...and Jay shoots for the moon.
Hey!! We agreed again. Is that twice this week? It is isn't it? LOLOL
Yep, his back foot slipped when he pushed off of it. The trajectory was much lower than intended and shorter than planned. It wouldn't be any different than if a RB slipped making a cut. The same thing would happen to a MLB outfielder. The arm would come forward too soon with too little power to put any air under the throw because all the weight has shifted to the front foot and the throw would be low and short.
Cutler can throw a lot farther than that so my guess is that throw was meant to go far beyond that and much higher so Wilson would have a shot at bringing it in on a jump ball vs a shorter CB. I also can't see where Wilson could have prevented the pick but I wouldn't blame Cutler for it either. He had to at least attempt a deep throw there and hope Wilson could bring it in. It's not like a loss of footing is something that's planned.
