Soul, soulsoulsoul. Your hardon for this guy is amazing. Notice how all these "great qb's" you had to use were from a bygone era when the qb could be headhunted and their TE/WR could be messed w/all the way downfield? I notice you didn't use today's elites, I know you would have if you could have, but you didn't b/c you couldn't. Today's qb elite's Brady, Manning, Brees, Romo, Big Ben, Derek Carr, Russell Wilson, Marriotta all have int %'s of 2.7 to 1.7, and most have 2.5 or under(only 2 have 2.7). THAT's today's NFL elite and future HoFr's. Those are the standard Cutler is going to be held to, not the 40's-90's
As for Fumbles, Cutler holds onto the ball to long and to low so when the pressure does get to him he is more easily strip sacked. That's a well known fact I don't need a page of bs trying to prove my point; everyone knows that Cutler is a turnover machine right now and in today's era; an era where the gun-slinging QB is dead turning the ball over is a big ol fat no-no. Today's NFL, not grampa's it's WAY to easy to score w/out taking stupid chances, and those int's/fumbles mean it's WAY to easy for the other team to score.
This isn't a professional football team any more. Even a bad one...
It looks like Trestman is available. We could use a QB coach.
LOL
We are effectively down to our 4th and 5th string QBs now since Shaw certainly would have been in the top-3 if he hadn't too been injured. Fales & Barkley, the only two guys we DO have, didn't even make ANY TEAM'S roster this year.
Headed for 3rd straight last place divisional finish and 4th straight year of .500 or worse (much worse). 6th straight year without a playoff appearance.
The Browns and the Jags are the only NFL franchises that are more of a a joke than the Bears are. And I'm not sure the difference is all that great anymore.

This is what the basement feels like.
In 50+ years of watching the Bears, I cannot remember a season where we had this level of injuries to key people. I'm the one who usually mentions all teams have injury woes every year. But not like this. Not like this.

JABF, it's true the injury parade has been extraordinary. I agree.
But, also we have to consider the fact that we have a very weak schedule this year. The only team we have played thus far that is clearly "really good" is Dallas. Maybe you could include the NYG in that category too but I think they're definitely a step below. Every other opponent of the 8 we have played is either so-so or a crap team. Ironically, the division itself is terrible and 10 wins will probably take 1st place this year, maybe even 9. Of the games we have remaining, none are that great of teams. Maybe Washington is the best overall and we have them at home.
My point is, yes the injuries have been horrible, but the schedule is also weak this year and we didn't exactly play decent football even before Cutler and/or Hoyer went out. We lost to crap teams like Indy, Tampa, and Jacksonville.

I agree with you. It actually makes me angry when I think about the lost opportunity this year. The NFCN is usually a pretty good division, but this season it wasn't. The door was wide open for the Bears to be competitive. But obviously we are even weaker than our division foes this year. Hoyer couldn't score points. Jay is having one of his worst years (his passer rating of 78.1 is his worst since 2009) which incidentally was his last year he wasn't missing games due to injuries. We read in the off-season how Jay and Loggains were partners refining the offense together. But their work product doesn't seem as good as what Gase had here.
Then you factor in the other injuries on the team and it's just been a bleak year.
