With the upcoming schedule being absolutely brutal, it seems impossible for the Bears to get through it successfully. But as the article says, this is the NFL and crazy things can happen. It would be ironic if after all of this we find out the team - yes, this 2021 team is good. Like really good.
It’s a question I posed on The Hoge & Jahns Podcast (with my own skepticism thrown in, of course) after the Bears beat the Bengals in Week 2.
They followed that conversation up with 47 yards of offense in Cleveland.
But things tend to change from week-to-week in the NFL, and the root of the question was really this: If the Bears have a good defense AND Justin Fields turns out to be a legitimately good NFL quarterback even as a rookie, doesn’t that make the Bears a pretty competitive team?
Don't worry, they aren't. The Raiders were discombobulated with their situation.
We now return to Nagy and his coaching already in progress.
I agree--it's no worry as the Bears aren't "good". Decent maybe but not good.
The offense is 30th in the league. I don't know too many good teams, notwithstanding the defense being solid so far, who struggle to score as often as we do.
I'm happy we are 3-2 but there's a lot of work to do to get to "good".
We are not a good team. But, if the O starts clicking, and I believe we might be not too far from that, as we saw a glimpse in the 1st half 2 days ago.. Then we would be a good team. And that could happen as early as end of the season.
They are good, but far from great. w/this schedule likely not a playoff team.
But it's not bad/trash either. This team is doing what it needs to win until they get their OT's back, and their RB; while getting their rookie qb up to speed.
Biggest thing is NOT using Nagy's O, and letting Lazor run his O.

The 49er's, Ravens and Steelers don't look nearly as impossible right now as it did in August.
