There is a discussion on this one that is really good, and explains why sometims these stills and commentary are flawed. It has to do w/an extra man no matter what the OL does; this again is one where Fields has to see there are more men then the line can block b/c of a shift and has to get to the hot route. Daniels does miss, but it shouldn't have mattered if he gets to the hot read.

Fields has a lot to learn. But it sure looks like he has the football IQ and the work ethic to get better. My hope is that Defilippo and Lazor can help Fields learn a lot this season. Then build on that base of knowledge in 2022 (and beyond). Each of these two coaches have been coaching young quarterbacks for 20 years or more. And during that time they've coached under some brilliant NFL coaches. If Fields has what it takes to be a solid QB in the NFL, I've gotta believe these two men can help him reach his NFL ceiling. But it is going to take time - and patience. This is a multi-year project.

Up until the draft he was the 2nd best qb next to Lawrence since they were both in HS. The Bears lucked into him dropping and the other teams over thinking all of it. Lance was as big, if not a bigger risk then Mitch coming out, and Wilson, while good, isn't better then Fields.
QB's should have gone Lawrence, Fields, Wilson, then in the teens Lance and Mac. Fields is the best qb prospect the Bears have ever drafted. He'll be fine, especially once they get the OT's they wanted playing back, Borom and Jenkins. And both of them will be helped greatly by the likes of Peters in the room breaking down film w/the coaches.
