OL+Nagy as a playcaller is a guaranteed fail if you have a rookie QB, and you got to see it first hand.
Nagy doesn't like to run the ball, couldn't even if he wanted to b/c the Browns took it right away.
Fields, even in preseason, was talked about reading deep to shallow, that doesn't work w/an OL like this. And it showed. Dalton makes the OL look decent b/c he can literally get it out faster then most qb's, and way faster then rookies.
This is why you should have never wanted Fields out there this year, at least until the OT's were healthy. Why was there never from what I can remember max protection? It should have been the base O all game. And that's why I voted for nagy
#1 ball goes to Nagy for inability to call a game to players strengths / adapt to the other team's game plan. #2 ball to the OL for total incompetence. #3 ball to Pace for assembling this poopshow of a roster.
Just went back through each year since Nagy was the HC. only 2 teams in 2019, one vs Green Bay 1 vs KC, did the O score 6 or less points(both were less). This is the 3rd worst O performance of any Nagy O. That isn't just on the OL or Nagy, it's also on the QB that wasn't ready to start, and the game had definitely not slowed down for him

All the above are true. I wanted #1 & #3 fired last January.
You could even add a #4 for the Bears receivers, none of whom got any separation at all all day. Ric and Motm can scream as much as they want about "getting the ball out quick" but there WAS NO ONE OPEN! Even on the times Fields threw short and quick, there was no one winning one-on-one or finding a soft spot in the zone to throw to. Monty, Mooney, Robinson, and Kmet all sucked balls today and none of them gave Fields a chance for a safety valve throw. [BTW, that game plan didn't work week 1 with Dalton either--Bears moved the ball between the 20s but still failed to score enough.]
The ultimate single deflated ball clearly goes to the O LINE. No doubt whatsoever. They were so awful today, both pass pro and run blocking, that words barely exist to describe it. They gave up 9 sacks and it would have been 11 or 12 with Dalton or Foles in there. NO QB EVER BORN ON EARTH COULD HAVE SUCCEEDED IN THOSE CONDITIONS TODAY, TOM BRADY INCLUDED.
Can't judge Fields at all based on today--neither good or bad. He had no chance and no one was open all day and he had barely 2 secs on every dropback.
In a larger sense, I think today's shitshow starts the warming of Nagy's seat (and I hope Pace's too).
This is Matt Nagy's 4th season and he still can't call a non-embarrassing offense. He constantly has games like this where the team looks disjointed and unprepared right from the first possession (how many blocks did Peters look like he barely even tried on today?). Nagy got owned today as bad as he did opening game of 2019 when we couldn't score even a single TD at home.
Ryan Pace is in his 7th year and still hasn't been able to assemble a roster that is competitive with the better teams in the league. This is the Bears 2nd game this season vs a playoff-caliber team and it is the 2nd time they have looked completely outmanned and outclassed. You have had 7 free agencies and 7 drafts, Ryan--if the best you can do is a middlin' roster then you need to go.

#1 Nagy for still calling plays despite the first 2 weeks weak passing game.
#2 Pace for not doing a better job fixing the OLine in the offseason. We all knew even without injury in a perfect world this line lacked depth.
Due to 1&2 we are going into week 4 without any opportunity to see Nagy's offensive innovation, speed at WR acquired in offseason, if Mooney has developed into legit a WR1/WR2, if Kemet has developed into a legit TE1. Its just impossible to know what Bears have at skill positions.
This is historically bad, even taking itno account a rookie qb, an inept HC and a terrible OL. Its not just the OL or Nagy, the QB was also completely unprepared; which is also on Nagy. He either HAS to tailor the O to what the players can do, HAS to give up playcalling or HAS to be fired.
