You think the Bears only get 101 yards and 200 tot for the game? He had 208 yards of passing against the Rams, and their Def is better, not much better but it is; they had over 100 rushing.
The game is 100% the opposite of what happened yesterday w/Dalton. B/c Dalton can pre read and get the ball out correctly in sub 2.5 seconds. Time to throw yesterday was 2.6 seconds, Dalton, can move the ball(ineffectively but can) w/that little amount of time.
Hmmm. Poor example by me but putrid is still putrid. Sorry.
well that we can agree on, but putrid is historically and laughably bad, 300 total yards is merely bad and unacceptable; its why they moved on from 10; but in reality it was not on MT, or NF, or AD or JF, and it won't be about any qb they trot out w/Nagy as the playcaller the failure of the struggles on O will 100% be on Nagy, has always been.

Mitch was part of the problem, but not THE problem. Nagy = shit.
I don't even blame the players, I think this is one of the more talented rosters that the Bears have had on O. But he refuses to put his players in a position to win. How could you not Max protect or chip those pass rushers yesterday?
I think Olin had a great example, they did a crack block toss asking a 40 year old Peters to pull and single block. How is that even in the playbook? Is that failure on Peters or on the guy that asked him to do it? It's THE closing argument to Nagy as the problem.
Peters can be a solid backup LT, but no one should be asking him to single block one of the best pass rushers in the league currently. Same w/Ifedi, you know that guy isn't a good Tackle, it's why you asked him to play RG last year. So why are you asking him to single block clowney, who isn't a great pass rusher but he's a far better player then Ifedi when playing RT.
This game should have been max protect, or at least chip blocks on every play to protect your rookie. No Nagy insists on being him and running his wide open O. And I think it was Biggs that pointed out that Reid did it to Mahomes in the SB last year, they were down all their starting OL and he didn't adjust his gameplan IN THE SUPER BOWL. Nagy learned this from Reid has success w/his system only b/c he has had pro bowl lvl talent on the OL, at TE and WR, and then + guys at RB and depth at WR. Take one of those pieces away and you had their SB last year.
So apparently Jim Miller on postgame said he saw Fields start to get some bad habits on the field, like shuffling his feet before he threw; and THAT is why I never wanted him to see the field w/this OL and Nagy as playcaller.
This is EXACTLY how you ruin a good young qb. Nagy is the WORST at developing qb talent.
This cycles back to exactly what I was talking about last season--when it was obvious Trubisky was a goner and new QB was coming in.
THAT WAS THE TIME to make a change at the top. Ownership should have seen it and at the very least Pace should have seen it. Instead, cowardice and inertia reigned supreme and both of these clowns were left in place.

Well I have no issue w/Pace, you do, I agree Nagy should have been let go; or forced to give up playcalling. When that didn't happen, I wanted whoever the rookie was to never see the field w/Nagy as the playcaller. The vet needed to fail to such a point that he was forced to admit it doesn't work.
"didn't have enough time" but 7 of Fields 11 sacks have been holding the ball 4.5 seconds. 9 of his total 11 came yesterday. So YES w/out QUESTION he had time to throw yesterday and he was holding the ball to long on at least 4, almost 1/2, and I think it's safe to say more then that, were him holding the ball well more then he should have.
This also comes back to the fact he was missing guys also; Fields was a problem all his own, was he a major problem or the largest part, no but he WAS a problem. This OL and Nagy are mostly to blame, but no qb in the NFL has 4+ seconds to throw the ball.

Pace hired (and retains) Nagy. They are joined at the hip. Pace owns Nagy failures. He CHOSE him.
And coaching aside, if you think 7 years to construct this mediocre player roster is good GM'ing, I suggest you compare it Buffalo's GM who took a dumpster fire team and turned it into a SB contender in half that time.

I say BS to that stat. Most of those "4.5 seconds holding the ball too long" was time spent running for his life, not looking to pass the ball.

here is a good example:
He doesn't understand the concepts he's being asked to run.

In fairness, what I saw yesterday was jailbreak after jailbreak, where Fields had defenders in his face as soon as he got the snap from center. He'd try to evade rushers, often trying to buy time evading them. No QB is going to be effective with THAT level of pressure. He was just trying to make a play in situations where there was no chance of making a play. He'd evade the first D guy but then get swarmed by the other D rushers. I don't think the guy had even 2 seconds to find an open guy due to the fact he was INSTANTLY trying to evade the rushers... the Bears blocking wasn't even slowing the dudes down much of the game. It was like there wasn't any blockers at all. Just multiple defenders pinning their ears back and teeing off on Fields. I agree with riczaj01 that there ARE ways to adjust to that kind of pressure (if nothing else to save your QB from injury). But the Bears never made any effort to adjust. I think that Fields got to the point he was just jumpy and not able to do anything after a bit of getting beat on like that. Understandable.
This is not a new thing this year. We have all watched a lot of bad football here for years now. This is the work product of 7 years of Ryan Pace as our GM. We are watching his roster players perform. We are watching his coaches perform. Do you give a guy like Pace an 8th year to deliver these clown shows? I don't think so. It's like Ted Phillips... the guy has done nothing here to keep his job. But each year he's back. Same with Pace. It's a toxic franchise that is okay with poor performance as long as the fam can cash the paychecks (Bears are a great cash-cow for the McCaskeys whether the team stinks or not).
Make no mistake though. Firing Nagy is just treating the symptoms of the disease, and not curing the disease here. I've given up on the family ever selling the team anytime soon. I've given up on the McCaskeys ever firing Ted Phillips, their President/CEO. But I do hold out the hope that they will at least throw us fans a bone and get a new GM here who can elevate the overall level of roster talent - and hire a competent HC who knows what to DO with the roster talent. Nagy has no clue. Pace has no clue. Get someone in who DOES have a clue. Not this clown show.
