thats just not always true. Again, and I know it's a different place/time, but Mahomes said he needed to sit and learn. It helped, hell he said last year he just started to learn to read defenses.
That being the case, while Dalton is not Smith, nor is Robinson and Kmet Hill or Kelce, nor is this OL full of grade A studs. And you see that Fields engine isn't as ice cold as he claims at times, the pressure and the defenses can get to him, he is confused. Being able to watch gametape on what and how Dalton saw and read and reacted to the defense, as long as he's moving the ball, and running the O there is a lot Fields can learn from it.

Never claimed it was 100%, unlike some posters when they post. This is a team that IMO needs the spark Fields can provide. If he looked like Nathan Peterman out there, I'd be on the other side of the fence. But he did good things, and he learned two things the hard way that he won't learn in practice (hold the ball with 2 hands and not seeing defenders has consequences other than lining up and trying again.) He didn't look lost, he used his feet while keeping his eyes down field and didn't look overwhelmed.
Nagy has his plan though, I think Dalton will be back for next week. (If Nagy says the arrow is pointing up for Dalton then he's out for the season, something to watch out for.) If they didn't think Fields at least had a chance to play well, he wouldn't be the #2--Foles would be and Fields would be inactive.
I'm not going to argue this with anyone, we did it all off-season. I didn't think the OL was going to be as bad as people said and in a small sample size they struggled against an elite DT but not against the Bengels. They aren't great (need to say that before someone jumps me for saying the Bears OL is good to great) but they aren't the seive we were told they would be. Could all this change against the Browns? Yep and it could be ugly. IMO Fields needs to play. I've said that since the beginning.
Either way, I'll root for Dalton, Foles or Fields. I don't cheer when the Bears lose.
Throwing fields out there and making him Zach Wilson <<<<<< Being patient with him and having him sit to turn into Mahomes/Rodgers.
You don't know what Zach Wilson is yet...this is a ridiculous statement.
How so?
He's a QB who has more INT's than TD's. He's clearly not ready for the NFL and throwing Fields out there will end up exactly like Wilson. The 2nd half alone proved Fields ain't ready.
Fields has a learning curve ahead of him that begins when he plays. Rookie QBs are, well, rookie QBs. If he sits for 10 years on the bench there are SOME things he will only learn by doing. There is no getting around that fact.
Get used to it guys because there will be rough games from this kid no matter when he is anointed the starter.
