Didn't get to see much of this game, daughter had a double header in softball, but 2 things seemed obvious from what little I did see, and what I heard in the chat.
1) the demise of this Def was greatly exaggerated
2) No matter what you wanted to believe, Fields wasn't, and isn't ready to start.
*Bonus* your O has a real problem w/the best O plays are your qb running the ball, and one of those qb's was Dalton. Nagy needs to quickly figure it out, or quickly give up the playcalling.
I think after this game today, any talk of Fields starting this season ends now. He is not ready for primetime. If Dalton is hurt, then Foles needs to start.
If Robinson makes the TD catch, nobody would think Fields isn't ready...
There were some horrific drops today. Even ARob crapped the bed dropping that TD pass from Fields. I have to believe our WRs are better than what we saw today. Fields will be better as he gets game reps with the #1s. Also, he wasn't the starting QB this week prepping for this game. I believe 100% that Fields will be night-and-day better once he's anointed the #1 guy and gets to work with the #1s. He'll still make rookie mistakes (that's a given for any rookie QB) but he'll be better than what we saw today.
This O can be better, and it will be better. I'm not saying Nagy isn't a problem. But just saying this will get better.
On a side note. Kindle Vildor looks lost out there through 2 games. He's hurting us on D.
I thought Vildor played better today. It was Shelley at NB who was chasing guys late all day. I'll have to watch it again.
I watched the secondary carefully since they were so exposed last week.
JJ was great. Th safeties were much better. I thought Vildor got beat once on that deep play but otherwise played pretty well (really need him)
But....Bears still have nothing at NB. Christian was awful last week and Duke Shelley got abused by Tyler Boyd all game yesterday. Expect opposing teams to exploit this going forward.
"Allen Robinson has to catch the touchdown pass from Fields. He just has to. It’s not only pivotal in the game but it would have given the organization a huge moment to celebrate. Don’t complain about the quarterbacks you’ve played with in your career when you can’t make plays like that."

That was such an important moment and he let it thru his hands. Literally. So dont be asking for no top5 wr money, im sorry. Well, he can ask...

Too easy, Allen.
It was a sexy throw by Fields and yeah I agree that's 99% on Robinson. He's gotta make that catch.

The defender was right there. ARob almost never drops a pass like that. I think it possible that the defender shielded his eyes for a second and he momentarily lost track of the ball.
I can't believe how high Goodwin can jump! I know he is former long jumper in track, but he can sky like an NBA player. We need to use that.

Fields saw one on one with no safety help over the top. Fields made the correct read and he’s gotta go to Robinson there every single time in that scenario.
Robinson NEEDS TO MAKE THAT CATCH, pure and simple. He wants elite WR money? That’s a catch Hopkins makes every time.

No excuses
+1
Heck, that's a catch I expect our local high school WRs to make under the Friday night lights here in town. I mean, that ball was as catchable as you're gonna get in football at any level, high school, college or pro ball. It made me sick to watch that drop.
I doubt that we see Allen Robinson do a drop like that again this season though. These first two games had a number of mistakes. I guess that's why I didn't understand the reaction over rookie Justin Fields' mistakes. I can forgive a kid new to the league, and playing the most difficult position in football - making a handful of errors. I have a more difficult time forgiving a guy like ARob making mistakes though. I totally expect Fields to make a lot of mistakes his first year of starting at QB. That's just part of drafting a QB. Trevor Lawrence has had 2 games starting and he's (understandably) making the usual rookie QB mistakes. He completed 42% of his passes yesterday and gave away 2 ints. Nobody is saying he should be benched.
