Bears score first, and actually go up 10-0 before the DEF decides they really don't know how to play. At the same time, Nagy starts getting cute and the Bengals score 21 unanswered points before the half. Coming out of the half, Bears score again to close to 21-17, but they get Jackson-ed and Secondary-ed into oblivion like last week. Bengals add 17 more points before Fields get a garbage time TD.
Bengals 38-Bears 24
Dalton 21-28 200 yards, 1 TD 1 INT Monty 100+ yards and a TD Fields goes 10-12 against a prevent DEF with rushing TD.
Mack and Quinn combine for 1 QB hit and 3 tackles, only sack comes from Nichols on a busted play. Johnson picks Barrow once.
I have no clue. But it will be fascinating to see if the Bears can clean up some of the things that hurt them in the opener. It's possible they do. If not then it's going to be another tough season of football for Bears fans. I wonder if we'll see some of our injured guys come back like Goldman, Borom or Peters. Monty has a hand injury too that he played through during the game... hope that's okay. Gotta stop doing the dumb penalties too.
The game could go either way. Bengals looked decent in their opener and beat the Vikes. They won't be a cakewalk.
Nagy out-Nagy's himself. Jackson misses all 8 tackles trying to go for the ball. The rest of the secondary misses a bunch of tackles 'cuz Jackson told 'em to. Instead of Fields playing for a series, he gets 6 or 7 random single plays, which keeps Dalton out of sync/rhythm. Dalton throws a red zone pick after sitting for a Fields play, a timeout and a penalty. Dalton gets sacked 5 times. He practices his living statue routine and Borom et al are injured so no O-line. Fields gets a running and a passing TD in garbage time. QB controversy explodes. 10 WR screens gain a total of -3 yards. DMonty lights it up for 150 yards and a TD with no help. Kmet turns the corner and doesn't make a stupid penalty. Graham is nowhere to be seen in the RZ. Goodwin is told to run 5 yards to the red station wagon, turn and wait for the pass. Pace likes where we're at. The bus backs up over Lazor. After that, the bus goes forward over Desai a second time (That's a forward, reverse and another forward in the same week for Desai). Ginny sits in the stands like a statue, not wanting to be noticed as the owner of the poopshow. George, Mike and Ted are at the bar trying to hire the waitress to be a HoneyBear. Nagy ices his own kicker with a timeout and we lose by two points.

Fans who thought this game would be an easy win are about to get a rude awakening. Bengals are no longer a pushover and Burrow looks legit.
I predicted a close game but it wouldn't surprise me to see the Bears get punched in the mouth and lose 27-13.

But hey, we're close!
Maybe Eddie I'm-too-sexy-to-tackle Jackson will get a pick!
The heck of it is, if the Bears could just clean up the stupid penalties, protect the ball better (no throwing interceptions in the end zone) and not give up so many big plays - all doable against the Bengals I think - that they can beat this team. They sure didn't look like world-beaters against the Vikings (I watched that game). I think this game will show us more of where the 2021 team's ceiling is. The Rams game was against a team that is arguably the best in the NFC this season & a team that has a legit shot at being in the Super Bowl. The Bengals are not at that level. This game SHOULD be winnable. In fact I think the odds makers have the Bears as a tiny favorite... close, but still a bit of a favorite.
But let's see if the Bears CAN clean some things up against a team they should be able to handle if they get their heads out of their butts.
