The Bears had momentum. It was a night Monty owned the Rams D for much of the night. Rams D was on it's heals. It was a night where late in the 3rd quarter the Bears were STILL only 6 point down. Against a good team you just can't make many mistakes and expect to win... but here was a "poster boy" moment that defines the Bears under Nagy. Kmet makes a bonehead stupid penalty that backed the team up 5 yards - and then the Bears call a timeout, that just seemed to evaporate the momentum (we've seen this SO many times under Nagy) - and then Andy Dalton promptly throws the pick in the end zone.
Rams take the ball 80 yards for a touchdown. It's a 14 point turnaround. We give up 7. They get 7.
There were a handful of moments like this in the game that cost the Bears 21 points. SMH. Different season, but the same old "Bears stuff" happening.
