Bc they replaced their LT w/a rookie that was going to start at LT. You know that, I know that, so why are you acting like you don't?
Also Graham had a really good year last year was a nice safety blanket in the RZ. Graham in the O > then Leno; who was ALL know was sub par at LT. This is the Robbie Gould thing all over again, moving on from him wasn't the problem, it's how they replaced him.
The Injury that Jenkins had shouldn't have stopped him from practicing or playing this year. Biggest problem was there was no real viable backup once Jenkins and Ifedi went down.
I know you know that.
When that wing-and-a-prayer "plan" fell apart because of the back injury, they were left scrambling without an alternative. Now we are hoping that a 39 yo last minute signing can shore up a gaping hole.
Yes, I know Graham had a better year last season than we all expected but you can't simultaneously argue that a leaky OL is reason to sit your phenom QB and also that prioritizing a 35 yo TE2 over a starting LT is a wise choice for the future of the franchise.
Oh and you also can't argue that is hindsight stuff after Jenkins injury became a serious issue. Lots of us here were shocked that Leno was summarily cut like he was right after the draft and lots of us called it a risky move at the time to just ASSUME the OT positions would somehow be fine. They aren't fine at all.
Again, and this has already been stated, THEY projected him as a LT, the college coaches had him working at LT before an injury moved him back to RT. So the college coaches and the pro coaches saw him as a LT, but hey you and the smo's on the internet got to see him play 1 game, well saw the stat he only played one game, so he has to be RT right?
