Pace put his eggs all in one basket there. Mike Glennon, Trubisky, Foles and now Andy Dalton. And now we have a promising young QB in Fields (who proved the blind squirrel and the acorn theory here by dropping into Pace's lap) yet we can't let the new guy play because he'll get killed behind this crap OL. Yeah, it looks like Foles is here - nobody wants him. Just a total waste of money. How sad.

It's a mess right now, but next season, if Fields is who we think he is and (between Nagy, Lazor, Defilippo, Dalton, and/or Foles) someone can help in his development this season, we should have ability to build a better roster around him. Considering Dalton only has a 1yr deal and Foles won't be the thorn in our side lik he is this year.

That's exactly what I am thinking here. I am optimistic about 2022. And it sounds like Jason Peters is performing at a surprising level already, so there is certainly a good chance the LT position will be okay until Jenkins can come back from his back surgery. We can worry about Peters staying healthy. But hey, anyone can get hurt anytime so that's a concern with any player. Not just Peters.
I am so hoping that 2022 will be a season where Pace begins to upgrade the talent on the offense. We obviously have some good young talent already, but my hope is that Pace continues to build upon that base.
