I agree that Fields should sit awhile (due to the OL not practicing together and being crap right now) but Trubisky has NOTHING to do with that. He would have failed no matter when he started because he's simply not good enough. One has nothing to do with the other.
Should Watson or Wilson or Luck should have sat because of Trubisky?
Yeah, I can't do this argument any more. Between people throwing up Darnold, Mitch, Gabbert, Bortles and who else knows what as examples of QBs who were ruined by playing too soon, and a poster here claiming that Fields is so not ready that he needs to sit for 2 season, we have lost sight of the importance of getting Fields out there. I can't wait for 4 years from now when Fields is asking for $45mil+ a season and someone points out that he "wasn't good enough to even play his first year and the Bears shouldn't pay him."
I think I'm boycotting all Fields threads until he starts.
Yeah, that pseudo-logic is like saying: "last Tuesday I got into a fender-bender so I'm never driving on Tuesday again."

Who is to say that we didn't condition Trubisky to be like that? The Bears have no good weapons or support outside of Robinson that would be a starter on any other team. I rather have Dalton be the guy to ruin and show Fields what not to do with this offense. Let's go the Packer way this time.
Uh huh
The Bears "conditioned" Trubisky to not be able to read a zone coverage in 4 years, not be able to get thru progressions, and be the worst deep ball thrower in the entire league season after season. RIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT
Here's a small refresher for ya about how awful he was:

They WILL start him soon as they need to save their jobs. It WILL harm fields working behind a turnstile line and developing bad habits. Nagy's playcalling won't improve and he will become desperate.
Thats the biggest thing, you cannot harm someone by holding them out, you can very much harm them by putting them in to early, we just saw that in NJ w/Darnold. He was seen as the most pro ready qb to come otu in awhile, and he went to a bad team, w/a bad OL and even after they built up everything around him it was to late, he talked about still seeing pressure even when it wasn't there.
Thats what you risk by putting Fields in there before this OL is fixed.
Plus having Adam Gase as coach didn't help much either. In reality, Fields is the better QB than Dalton... But until the OL is better, Fields stays on the bench.
And to think I wanted Gase as HC... But we got Nagy, so its a tie
