It makes you wonder how it will all play out. Is Neil Bluhm trying to stick it to the McCaskey's for payback on what Michael McCaskey and Ed M. did to him years ago? Hmmm...
LINK BLUHM IS ALSO the precision-driven magnate who was shut out of purchasing 19.7 percent of the Bears in partnership with longtime chum Judd Malkin in the winter of 1987-88.
The two had an agreement in place to buy the block of stock for approximately $17M from the estate of the late George "Mugs" Halas Jr., the son of the fabled "Papa Bear."
Instead, the cash-strapped McCaskey family -- notably father Ed and son / CEO Michael -- scurried to find quick capital to maintain "family control" of the franchise.
With insurance wizard Pat Ryan putting up almost all of the money, the McCaskeys exercised a right-of-first-refusal and sent Bluhm and Malkin hiking.

I think the ultimate payback is that he buys the team. Right now it is between the Bears and the guy who wants to continue the Horse racing.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the family finally cash in and sell the team. Not saying it will happen, but rather I wouldn't be shocked to see it finally happen.

After Virginia dies, count on it.
It will definitely happen. There are lots of family members who on small %s of shares that want to be cashed out.
The McCaskey's are way too poor to own a major sports franchise by today's standards.
Of course it's not a bluff, Arlington Park is flat.
Bad jokes are apparently a normal fault for geologists.
Hmmm, a normal fault? Let me think about this classification. Could it be a Strike-slip Fault? No. Oblique Fault? No. Reverse Fault? I think I'd go with this one because... Normal Fault? nobody in their right mind says I'm normal.
