I think Nagy understands the OL is not able to pass protect very well and has Dalton in there just for the short term & having him dump off those short passes (ultra quick release passes). Maybe Fields can buy more time with his feet so that he can have more of a vertical game. I don't know. Just trying to guess at what's going on. Obviously, Dalton isn't the answer.

Nagy's hand is gonna be forced by the locker room just as many us here foretold. The players aren't gonna put up for long with keeping Fields on the bench and Dalton's dink-and-dunk stuff. It's not like the team is gonna get off to a "hot start". We will be lucky to win 1 of the first 3 games.

Yes, but it's not just one game. It's several seasons of stupid playcalling, piss-poor timing with the playcalls, momentum killing timeouts etc. I hope we're not heading for a Trestman-like revolt. I think Nagy has a little more demeanor that Tresticles did. But if Nagy starts coaching from the back of the room, all bets are off.
But we're just fans. All we can do is sit back, R-E-L-A-X and enjoy(?) the entertainment.

When Fields does start at some point this year, it will be fun watching him develop. That alone will make fans a bit happier. I saw today that the Bears are working out DBs so they know they're in a world of hurt with this secondary. I don't know what they can do hiring a guy off the street right now though.
