Fields is the better player. Right now. Today. If this HAD been an open competition, Dalton would have had no chance.
This is based on what? One preseason game where Dalton got to pass the ball 4 times and Fields played against a bunch of back ups? I'm excited for Fields too but c'mon. Lets try to get a bigger sample size first.

And Fields will get a ton of work in the remaining preseason games. I'm fine just letting this all play out and watch what actually happens between now and the regular season opener. I think we COULD see Fields start in that first game. Or not.
I think we're "making a mountain out of a mole hill here" because the world won't end if we have to wait a few games for Fields to start. If he starts 15 games instead of 17, it's not like it will ruin the kid for 2022. When the coaching staff feels he's ready to start then he'll start. I actually like our coaching staff, especially on O for this year. Matt Nagy, Bill Lazor, John DeFillipo, Henry Burris (CFL Hall of Fame QB, passed for over 63,000 yards), Tom Herman, Mike Furrey & Juan Castillo... there's a lot of quality people there who (I believe) will craft a solid O unit now that Fields is here. Their jobs are on the line here (unlike the Bears "fans" on social media who think they know everything). Believe me. When Fields is ready to start, he will. I'm 100% okay with that.
