If he can be healthy and stay healthy, I wonder if he can be a good NFL TE? He was the top TE in the nation playing for Michigan but blew out his knee with an ACL injury in his last game of his college career (Orange Bowl 2016). He had serious nerve damage with that injury, so it must have been a really hard rehab.
He won the John Mackey Award, as the #1 tight end in college football. But the knee injury dropped him to being a 5th round draft pick that year by the Broncos. He spent his entire 1st year in the NFL on injured reserve (2017). Never played a down that year.
He rehabbed the injury and the next season, 2018, he had his first start in September but blew out his knee with another ACL injury and spent that year on IR too. In 2019 he had complications from the ACL injury and missed the entire season on IR. In 2020 he played 5 games and then was placed on IR due to a hamstring injury.
His entire career in the NFL has only been 4 starts for 10 receptions for a total of 90 yards. He's a long shot signing but I hope he does turn it around here. He's still young at 25 years of age. It's not too late but he's obviously needed to keep healthy now. He might be my "training camp hero" for this season. I'll be pulling for him.

I remember reading about him 4 years ago before the draft. Was a talented Kmet-type TE who's career has been ruined by injuries.
This is a Zach Miller 2.0 situation for the Bears. Will be a great find if he's healthy but hasn't been able to stay healthy much. Worth a shot
