Super Bowl window is always open with a hall of fame QB.
no it isn't, which is why you have a HoF qb that wants out of the team north of us, why Wilson wants out of Sea, and why Tom Brady wanted out of NE.
You take Rodgers away from the Packers and they're not the best team in the division. Same is true with Wilson ( Who btw didn't want to leave the Seahawks but wanted more of a say ) Patriots didn't even make the playoffs without Brady.

A HOF QB will always allow your team to compete.
who are you arguing with? no one said they were.
but GB hasn't competed in the playoffs in years; so apparently they don't. You need a far better team to compete. Brady needed to go to TB and create an all star team to compete, so the best in the business disagrees w/you.

There's no question that having an elite QB allows you to compete consistently, Ric. It's not even debatable.
Note that "competing" doesn't mean winning the SB every year (impossible). It means: making the playoffs most seasons and having a legit shot of going on a run. By contrast, the 2020 Bears made the playoffs technically but no one with half a brain thought they had a shot to make a run. It would have been a miracle for them to win one wildcard game.
The Packers HAVE competed in the playoffs consistently for years, I have no idea where you came up with otherwise. They went to the NFCCG game last two seasons. Despite not having nearly as many SB appearances as they should have had, Green Bay has made the playoffs and gotten to at least the divisional round something like 10 of the last 13 seasons. I wish the Bears had a record of "failing to compete" like that.
Between Rodgers and Brady, those two teams have missed the playoffs only a handful of times over the last 15 or so years. Most of them they have won their division as well. Similar things can be said about Peyton Manning back in his day and about Mahomes right now.
No one is saying that any QB can win the SB every year or that he doesn't need a solid supporting cast. The point is, if you already have an elite QB, you're about 80% of the way there. Assembling the rest is almost easy by comparison.

Having a great QB gets you INTO the playoffs, not competing in them, and not arguing that; your qb wins the reg season and gets you there. It takes a team, which is really hard to maintain w/the current contracts of qb's and the salary cap to win IN the playoffs. Rogers is 11-8 in the playoffs, that's just over .500, just like most other qb's not named Brady. I wouldn't consider a team who's regular season record is in the 50's as competing IN the regular season, 10-6 is the minimum for a good season; that's 62%. I would hope we all agree a team averaging 9-7, isn't "competing".
Big Ben is 13-9 59%
Rogers 11-8, that's 57% win%
RusWil 9-7 56%
Manning 14-13 51%
Brees 9-9 50%
Eli, a far lesser qb, is 8-4 67% and he's also 2-1 in the SB.
Joe Flacco, not even a "franchise qb" quality payer is also 67% and has 2 sb appearances.
Brady 34-11 75%
Only 3 qb's have over a 60% win % in the playoffs, Eli, Flacco and Brady. Raise your hand if you would take Brady 1 Eli 2 Flacco 3 out of those 8 qb's.
There are 5 qb's w/a better win % then P Manning; raise your hand if you would take them over Manning? Maybe Rogers/RusWil? Debatable but likely you go w/Manning. Eli Flacco and Big Ben are perfect examples of how you need a team to win IN the playoffs unless you are NE, and don't have one of arguably the greatest to ever play QB, the only way to get compete IN the playoffs is to have a great team IN the playoffs. It also helps that NE has been known to "bend" rules to the point just before breaking them.
It's why Brady left NE, he knew he couldn't continue to carry that team, that he needed a better Def and more O weapons, it's why Watson, Rus wanted out of their teams, and why Rogers has been fighting w/GB management for the last several years. They want to compete FOR SB's, and they cannot do that w/the rosters of the teams they are on.

Goon Bay consistently in the playoffs means nothing. Who do they have to consistently beat to get there? Lions, Vikings and Bears? Sounds like a scene out of Wizard of Oz. I'd bet even the munchkins could beat up on our three teams every year.

Who did Tom Brady beat every year....the Jets, Miami, and Buffalo? All 3 were total garbage for 15 years.

So going to the NFC Championshp game year after year isn't competing. I hate to see where we are in your view.

Not like Brady had much competition in the AFE East.

they don't go to the nfc championship year after year, GB w/Rogers as the starter is 11-8 in the playoffs. Do you even actually watch the nfl?
09 0-1 playoff wins
10 4-0 playoff wins, SB win
11 0-1, didn't get to the nfc championship game
12 1-1, did get to the nfc champ game
13 0-1 didn't get to the nfc champ game
14 1-1 did get to the nfc champ game
15 1-1 didn't get to the nfc champ game
16 2-1 did get to the nfc champ game
17 no playoffs
18 no playoffs
19 1-1 did get the nfc champ game
20 1-1 did get to the nfc champ game.
That's 6 times in 11 years, so just over 1/2 the time is always now? Being above .500 in the playoffs all of 2 times in 11 years is somehow proving your point? He has missed the playoffs that many times, and has 0 wins while in the playoffs 3 times; does that make him a shitty qb, and the greatest at the same time?
Hope you have such loose ideals for the Bears when they finally get it figured out. Even a guy like Rogers needs help in the playoffs. Again see Watson, Rogers, Wilson and Brady all being fed up w/their teams b/c they don't put enough around them. I wonder if they realize their race to be the highest paid qb's for bragging rights are why their teams became limited
