As far as the Bears signing Foles, I'm guessing they underestimated how much the OL had declined behind Leno and Massie. Foles absolutely HAS to have a good OL in front of him or he's roadkill to good opposing defenses. He's just not the same guy who won a Super Bowl and was the MVP of a Super Bowl.
It's the age-old story. If you fail to have a decent OL then bad things happen. And if you have a non-mobile QB like Foles then even WORSE things happen. It's just the way it is.
