I don't think there is any way to answer that question right now. He hasn't even thrown a pass in rookie mini camp yet, no way they can say if he'll play game 1 and how much.
Like I said, he talked but he didn’t say anything very informative.
Ok...but the thing you want information on is impossible to give information on right now...so even if he did give very informative answers, your specific request would go unanswered because it can't be answered right now. Not really sure what your beef is.
That was a good interview with Nagy. Thanks for posting it. I like Nagy's plan for developing and playing Fields. He explained his strategy very well. I also like how he did not dodge questions and gave straight answers.
I had the opposite impression. I did not hear much about what Fields is going to be doing. Is he going to play in the first game of the season? How much? That is what I would like to know, and the question was not asked.
I just assumed that Nagy won't know that yet. He and the coaches have a lot of work to do to get Fields ready for being an NFL quarterback. Hopefully they don't push Fields into starting before he's ready. He could be game-1, or sometime during the season.
davidl after reading your post I thought about this a bit. You are right that there wasn't any "revelation" of specifics by Nagy. I just took it at a simple level (LOL, I'm a simple minded guy) and just enjoyed him speaking in general terms about his vision for getting Fields up to speed here. And I liked what he said. I thought what he said was a healthy reasonable approach with this. This is Nagy's 1st ever QB drafted with his input - first ever as a HC. I feel confident he is on the right track here. I'm really pulling for him (and Fields) to be a success in all of this. I am so excited.
There is hope now, for the Bears getting better. A few months ago I didn't see much that was hopeful. But now I do. So I liked that video even though it was not earth shattering stuff. It was just some positive stuff, and right now I can't get enough of the "positive" each day. I really don't like being "down" about the Bears or anything else. But this last year in particular, with the Covid, political crap and the Bears stinking it up... it got me down. Now I am emotionally climbing out of that hole. It sure feels better. More hope for sure.

———— After the draft, I am also more optimistic for this season. If Rodgers is not in GB, the division is wide open. Some of the other teams are also going to be interesting to watch. I see changes coming.

Pre-draft (thinking like most of us that we had no shot at Fields), I posted here about 2023 being a realistic goal to shoot for as a turnaround target. By that I mean building a team that could consistently compete for playoffs & winning division titles, not just one-off postseason appearances here and there.
After landing Field, I'm moving that up to 2022.
If Rodgers and Green Bay do indeed go through with their divorce, I'm thinking 2021.
Don't want to get too far ahead of myself here but I originally was thinking Rodgers had a couple of elite years left in him and it would take that long to find and develop a QB anyway. If he is gone, the division i wide open and Fields could easily be the best QB in the NFCN by next season.
