Interesting points by Adam Jahns in "The Athletic" today. It's behind a paywall so can only post a brief snippet here. I do believe that there is a night-and-day difference between the Trubisky pick that Pace made without any input from his head coach, John Fox, and this time with the head coach, Matt Nagy, having serious input into the decision.
The QB this time must be a fit for what the Bears are trying to do on offense. The fit matters. I think we sometimes (as fans) overlook the importance of this.
Anyway, Jahns sees 3 QBs in this draft that are a fit for what Nagy wants to do here:
"In my opinion, there are three quarterbacks who likely appeal to Nagy based on the Chiefs’ previous evaluation of Patrick Mahomes (with Nagy, formerly the Chiefs’ offensive coordinator, involved), the on-the-field demands of the position in today’s NFL and the “cogs” that Pace wants identified in players: Ohio State’s Justin Fields, North Dakota State’s Trey Lance and Texas A&M’s Kellen Mond."

The Bears’ NFL Draft scenarios: All paths start with how team will address QB need
Bears general manager Ryan Pace remembers well what his coach, Matt Nagy, did to influence the team to take a cornerback last year.
“What’s been cool about it is he loves the scouting process so much,” Pace said. “Some coaches are more into it than others. So it’s offense (or) it’s defense — Matt’s involved in every single position we’re talking about. I remember last year, as we went through the corners and his passion as we went through that evaluation process and Jaylon Johnson, and what it led us to.”

Obtaining any one of those three quarterbacks will require not only an aggressive approach, but a flexible plan based on what actually occurs in front of the Bears in the draft. Starting with the 20th pick, the Bears must be ready for anything and everything.
