Just saw this, too. Makes me very sad. So devastating.
I didn't know him as a Bear, but I did know him from his WCW days.
Yes, I used to love wrestling as a kid. Leave me alone. lol.
But seriously, this sucks.
“I promise you, this epitaph that I’m going to have on me now? This ain’t ever how I envisioned this was going to end. I want everybody to realize why they’re no longer going to see me around. I thought I was ready for anything. But man. This will sneak up on you like a cheap-shotting Green Bay Packer.”
Glad he's keeping his sense of humor, but the finality of it all is just...

A few years ago I bumped into a friend of mine and said "how 'ya doing" - just saying "hi" to the guy. He said he wasn't doing very well at all. He said he had just been diagnosed with ALS. I was stunned. Six months later he was dead.
I know some folks can live for quite some time with ALS and I hope the doctors can help McMichael. It's a really horrible disease.
Speaking of ALS, did anyone stay in touch w/ our longtime member jj30 ? (don't remember his name, though).
I haven't had any contact with him in over 3 years. I do miss his input here since he, as a former NFL player who had actually played in a Super Bowl, was able to give perspective to a lot of what we post here. I have emailed him a couple of times in recent years and never heard back. I did send another email today. Some people do live for quite some time with ALS. Stephen Hawking, the famous physicist, lived for over 50 years since he was initially diagnosed with ALS. On WebMD is says, "As new medicines and treatments for symptoms become available, people will live longer and longer with the disease."
