This article makes me wonder about how bad the Bears did at developing Mitch Trubisky. He doesn't throw the ball down field and when he does he isn't accurate.
If the Bears took him #1 it wasn't because he was the most polished QB winning on the biggest stage (Watson) or gaudy #s (Mahomes). He must have the measurables like Allen that drew Pace to him - though he doesnt have quite the size. He couldnt even beat out Marquis Williams his soph season & he went undrafted.
How has Trubisky not improved in mechanics accuracy and ability to run an offense he has been in multiple years. Perplexing.
Or the fact that after 4 years he still can't read coverage at all. When he is "looking good", it's almost always cuz the OC is bootlegging him out and cutting the field by half or more and giving him just one simple read.
that's the biggest issue.. most QBs are gonna struggle with this playcalling and OL. I still can't get over running out the clock at the half with timeouts and lots of time on the clock. How can you win with anyone if in playoffs you're making calls like that? I hope we draft some maulers and Nagy isn't afraid next year. You can't say play like you have nothing to lose and then pull something like that. You're not even trying.
Yeah, that struck me big time last week. We had the ball down 7-3, with 1:30 left, and 3 TOs. And we ran times to drain the clock then punted. IN A PLAYOFF GAME! I can't describe how damning that was.
It said two key things: A) Nagy is a pussy and an awful gameday tactician B) There's zero confidence in Trubisky. Absolutely NONE
I don't care if Bray or Cohen is out there, you need to get some points. Trubisky and the Bears had some of the best numbers for 2 minute drill points and we didn't even try. I'm very nervous to see what Nagys offense looks like next year. Especially with the impending loss of Robinson.

I don't care if you have Caleb freakin' Hanie under center, you still gotta try to at least get 3 there.
