Good breakdown. I'd add these:
.....
B) People were commenting in the Shoutbox during the game that the O didn't look like the same O we had seen last few weeks. It looked pretty much the same to me except the defense took away Robinson and wasn't fooled much by play-action and rollouts. Like I said, other than the Mooney bomb, Mitch didn't hit (or even attempt) anything beyond about 5 yards past the LOS. That was the difference--last few games Mitch was able to hit several key 15-20 yard mid-range throws for big plays. There was NONE of that today.
.....
Essentially the Packers said:
(1) Run the ball as much as you like.
(2) Throw all the outlets off bootlegs you want to the TEs, we know they don't go down the seams.
(3) We know the only WRs to get balls are Robinson and Mooney, so we'll take away Robinson and see if Mitch can get the ball to Mooney.
And with Mitch at QB the Bears really couldn't make the Packers pay for those decisions. He's not accurate enough to throw a ball down the seam to the TEs, and I think when GB saw the roll outs, they simply abandoned half the field and covered the medium to long options Mitch had in front of him. For an OFF, having a QB that needs to be rolled out to be effective isn't a plus, its a serious problem. Without the ability to operate from the pocket, Mitch was never going to unlock the Pacers DEF game plan. The unblocked end or LB simply pressured Mitch into the outlet and he took it. Its exactly what the commentators said last week a defense needed to do.
The obvious problem with constantly having to baby your QB (cutting field in half, giving him just 1 or 2 simple reads, making mostly short throws), is that you greatly reduce what the defense has to defend as well.
For instance, Kmet looks like he may become a really good TE weapon but he's never gonna be able to make those big Gronk/Kelce/Waller/Ertz type seam catches until he has a QB that can throw them accurately. Mitch can't do it.
