Packers will be bringing their "A Game" for sure in this one. Bears gotta produce a run game in this one or it could be a blowout loss I think. I really believe that if the Bears can't be effective with the run game then it's a house of cards and it all caves in on us.
This game is exactly what the Bears organization needs at exactly the right time... What better time to have a "prove it" game for a QB coming into a contract.. Going against the Packers 2nd string defense would have told you nothing.

I was thinking the same thing. If for nothing else, I'm curious myself. Let's see what this offense can do, or not do, against a quality defense. Not just for evaluating Mitch (although that's critically important too) but to see if the entire offense performs, OL, WRs, TEs, Monty - the whole crew. Are they decent, or have we just seen a few games recently where a high school offense could have looked good due to the piss poor defenses we've faced. I'm super curious to watch this game to see how legit the O is.
The defense isn't going to stop the GB offense. Perhaps they can slow it down just a tad bit. What that means is the Bears O will need to score serious points. At least 30 points I'm thinking. That's a pipe dream I think. But if they can't do that then it's just going to be another Bears loss to the Packers.

Looking to the next few years I don't think they need to score 30 every week if they decide to build around the defense, which would need to improve. Trubisky needs to sustain some drives and not look like Cutler on Sunday.
This is huge development. Bakhtiari handles Mack pretty well. Checking the depth chart, his backup is a guy named Nijman who was taken by Packers last year as undrafted free agent, cut, resigned. He has very little experience. Mack will own this guy unless they give him plenty of help. More likely they will shift Billy Turner to LT, as he has taken some snaps there this season. Anyway, getting Bakhtiari out will help our pass rush, and Lord knows it needs help. We are ranked 25th in NFL on rushing passer. Bakhtiari has not given up a sack this season.
A massive loss. Second best player on the team. HOF LT
I read about this today and thought this is just awful. Going into the playoffs without their LT is a huge loss. Week 17 doesn't mean anything compared to the postseason and how GB has been playing so far. Sorry to hear this, man.

Literally hours from being out of 2020. Definitely changes the entire offense. He never needed help. Sucks

It is a massive loss. But honetly the Bears have been playing without a LT for years. RT too for that matter. I feel bad for Bakhtiari. I do. But having to play with a crappy OT is nothing new to Bears fans. That's our reality year after year here.

To be fair we did address this problem with two first round picks...Gabe Carimi and Chris Williams. Sigh.

+1
And we did sign Orlando Pace for LT too... Best tackle we ever had on an aluminum walker.
