Im amazed by this diva style of nowaday players. You have a contract. You could be tagged next year. Those are the rules. Chill and play.
Except managment doesn't live by those rules. They have no problem cutting players and not paying them their full contracts. I have no issue with players doing everything they can to get what they deserve and have earned. I'll never take the side of billionaires over guys who put their bodies on the line.
That is NOT what I meant. I meant, if you are here, be here 100%. In the long run thats what could bring him an even bigger next contract, here or somewhere else. Also, im not on billionaires side, im on franchise side. Players come and go, Bears stay.

It does not have to be Trubsiky or Foles, but Pace has to think about paying a QB to start. He can't hand out money until the biggest problem is filled.
I'll just remind everyone that it takes TWO sides to agree to a contract. The Bears could offer the sun, moon, and the stars...but A-Rob and his agent still have to agree to sign on the dotted line.
So here is how the top of the WR bracket looks per Over the Cap:
Hopkins 28(considered the best WR in the game right now) 54mil average 27 mil per year
Julio Jones 31(has been one of the best in the game) 66mil per year, 22 average
Keenan Allen 28 80mil 20mil average .
Amari Cooper 26 100mil 20 mil average.
Michael Thomas 27 96mil 19mil average
AJ Green 32 18mil, 18mil average
Tyreek Hill 26 , 54mil, 18mil average
Odell Beckham 28(one of the best ever) 90mil 18mil avg
Mike Evans 27 82mil, 16 mil avg
Brandin Cooks 27 81mil 16mil avg
Bears 2020 cap per OTC 10mil, 2021 8mil, 2022 104mil, 2023 131mil.
Next 2 years are slim and they still have players that need signed. Yes they can create space, but not 30-50 mil which would be needed if you are paying ARob 16mil-20mil on average. And he likely deserves to be closer to 18 mil. And if you are clearing that much cap room, that means you likely need to sign more players on top of the ones you already needed to replace.
Don't forget it's possible that next year the cap goes down, who knows what happens the following years. You cannot just backload his contract, he probably wouldn't want that anyways.
The Bears should re sign him, and no doubt they would like to, but he might well be to expensive.
There are some contracts that could be restructured next year to create some significant cap savings...but thats Pace and the finance side's job to figure out.

Too early but I'm hoping the NFL is flexible and meets the NFLPA halfway on the CAP. Maybe raise it to 190M. Then the Bears would have some wiggle room.

After calming down a bit and getting a grip, I'm thinking I need to chill and just watch and see if the team wins under Ryan Pace's moves - all of them and not just the Robinson thing. We don't control any of this. Pace does. The proof of his success or failure will come soon enough. The team will win or it won't. I'm just going to try (really really hard) to relax and enjoy watching the team this season. Whatever happens, happens.

Yeah JABF, I have approached sports this year as a secondary pleasure in life. These athletes are takings risks and if we win a championship (Be it MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL) then great. If not it's not the end of the world. Everyone's health is and should be the priority.

Every single NFL team every year that doesn't have a starting QB on a rookie contract finds ways to manage it.
Pittsburg, New England, New Orleans, Green Bay, Detroit, and so and so on.

Yes, but do all of them have a 20+ million WR?
I'm not saying ARob should go, but so far we don't know anything about the $.
And the Teams you mentioned can work around those QBs. Bears have to figure it out and this has priority over the WR. Pace can always add WRs that are solid. Just not the ~10th best.
Just wait and see what he does. ARob will finish the season here and much can change real quick. It's not burnt bridges, it's a situation that can be solved.

Since we are talking about the Bears WR group, although not directly about ARob, this is a really good tape breakdown. I too was surprised when Ridley was scratched for Wims but maybe JW is really coming on after a disappointing 2019:
