Extending him a complete no-brainer. And by waiting the WR market went up big time with Hopkins signing for huge money. Not saying ARob is at Hopkins' level, but it does tend to drive the whole market higher.
All I can figure is that Pace is nervous cuz the cap is sure to decrease next year thanks to Covid.

Yeah, it's hard to figure. He's young (just turned 27 a few weeks ago) and is our best proven player on offense. When you step back and look at Pace's 6-year work-product there isn't much he's proven he can do right. I have tried so hard to not give up on him... as you pointed out MP I start each season thinking the best. Even when he hired John Fox, signed Mike Glennon, and all the other crazy moves until now. But at some point I feel like watching him try to build an offense here is like watching a monkey try to build something out of Lego's.

Like I joking said a few days ago, we need a Pace-Emery hybrid love child for GM. The Pace side can handle defense; the Emery side can handle the O. Neither was/is any good at the opposite.

JABF, see my post above. Thoughts?
I feel like we have a young WR in his prime with AR, and clearly Trubisky is most comfortable chemistry-wise with him too. We finally have some promising talent on offense... not proven yet but they do look better than the crap we've had recently on O. We should probably keep this guy around. I wouldn't trade him. He's the one "lego" piece that is 100% proven to be the real deal on our offense. Surely Pace can get this guy signed.
Throw sh** at the wall question. Would trade ARob for a disgruntled OBJ? Salaries are not that far apart.
Definitely not. There are still too many question marks on this roster, so the last thing this team needs is a hothead and loudmouth who will cause nothing but drama on the field and in the locker room.

Pass.
And I keep thinking "if it ain't broke don't fix it" here. We got our guy. He's young. He's gifted. He seems like a class-guy on and off the field. Trubs has his best chemistry with this player. He's gonna be a weapon for anyone at QB for years to come. I would think that Pace would have made dead certain he had the money to pay this guy. He's one of the top weapons on the entire team... certainly on offense.
I don't know. Maybe I'm just over emotional about losing him.
