Okay so Hub was taking to McNeil and Parkins about the first couple days of camp w/pads.
1 said to keep in mind that at this time in most years they've had rookie OTA's, vet OTA's and mini camps so the team is to be expected to not be where they normally would be:
Said that Graham has stolen the show so far, but the other TE's also look good. Said look to keep 4 or 5, probably 4.
Said he was surprised at how much bigger the OL is said Ifedi is a massive man, Spriggs is a big guy, and Jordan finally looks like he has an NFL body. When asked about the outside zone said that doesn't tend to fit w/a bigger OL but nothing is off the table.
Said it sucked to see Artie B get lost for the year w/a torn ACL, but the Bears couldn't have wanted their plans for him to be the #1, but it will hurt on depth. They'll look to add depth there somehow.
Said they are thinnest at RB and WR b/c of the lack of a proven 20+ touch RB, let alone a backup that could do that if Monty goes down. *I don't know why he thinks this, there is nothing about this system that wants/asks for a 20+ rush RB, it's why Howard is gone* But it is valid that really Cohen and Patterson are at best gadget players and not really primary/backup RB's. Said WR it's just a lack of anything proven past Robinson. Again, not sure this matters b/c in this system the 1, 2, really 1a 1b are the #1 WR and the #1 TE. Then it's just about a reliable #3 WR and a threat WR. Sometimes I think Hub gets caught in the generic's of the NFL b/c he deals w/all the teams and while Primarily Chicago he obviously cannot keep it all together.
Said so far Tru has looked like the better qb 2 days in, but said he would have expected that w/the lack of ota's and mini's for Foles to get caught up. Said the competition is real, and that the good relationship they have is real though. Said having a real competition seems to be bringing out the best in Tru b/c he likes being challenged. Said what really surprised him was that Foles has not been the better thrower though even w/being behind you should still be able to see that. Of the multiple questions asked about Tru and his ability to read a def. He said he has the ability to learn it, but isn't sure he has the ability to discern it in live games, and said there is no way to know if he does until he does it, didn't say he cannot have it, just isn't sure. Said guys like Rogers, Brady, Manning, Brees, Mahomes all have that "born w/it" ability to feel the play, and that Brady/Brees don't have the greatest arms but are still great regardless. Said it will take some time for Foles to get his feet under him, but right now Tru is the better qb.
this is all coming from my shitty as memory from a few hours ago, if there is anything to add, or if I missed something please add/correct
