My gut feeling is that is what will happen. I see zero downside to that. Let Trubisky start in the first game. If he shines then let him continue to showcase what he can do this year. If Trubisky falters give him the hook and trot Foles out there. If both of them suck this year then 2021 will be the year of the QB for the Bears in the draft.

Despite all this talk about QB "competition," Trubisky is going to be the starter for game #1 and he will remain the starter until the Bears lose a game AND Trubisky was key to the loss. If he plays well and the Bears lose anyway, then it will take more than one loss to cause a change. My 2 cents.
