As the Chicago Bears learned in 2019, NFL fans are quick to point fingers when their favorite team’s offense implodes. Some will immediately blame the quarterback, others will point to the offensive line, others will blame wide receivers and runningbacks, and many will scrutinize the coaching and play-calling. But while fans can use film study to evaluate player performance, how do we separate a play-caller from the execution of his players?
No he is not, he got bailed out by a legendary 2018 defense with 36 turnovers... When the defense regressed in turnovers in 2019 the offense did not improve.
One good season, one bad season...I need a tie breaker.
^^^This
1st season it all went right, health unpredictable.
2nd season it all went wrong, team was over confident, health wrecked the team, he obviously couldn't adjust his system based on all the problems that happened(qb struggling, wr's struggling, TE centered O not having any TE's etc, OL sucking ballz) and he obviously wasn't listening to the scouts that he claimed he was using to "self scout".
3rd season, lets see what he can do w/all those learning experiences.

I mean, can we really say the success of the 2018 season has anything to do with Nagy instead of that legendary defense?
That defense was legendary. 36 turnovers.
A defense like that made a piss poor Nagy offense look good. When that defense regressed, well we got to see the real problem with the team...

I think he’s smart enough to become a good HC one day, but he’s definitely not there yet. He needs to find a way to balance the play calling, upgrade his playbook and use Montgomery more. You can’t have a functioning offense when you won’t commit to the running game.
