Mitch: Trying to prove everybody wrong & my teammates right

So, with all this talk about QB "competition," I don't see how that can happen much with just a shortened training camp and preseason.  Trubisky knows the system after 3 years in it; whereas Foles is brand new here.  Ergo, it seems like a big risk to switch QB's at the start.  I say we should start Trubisky for season opener (with fingers crossed), and see what happens from there.  What say you?

Okay, but it's more than just knowing the playbook.  Trubisky is very familiar with the coaches and receivers.  I read that he has been working offseason with Anthony Miller to fine-tune the timing of the pass routes.  He is also very familiar with Robinson, of course.  These are things that should give him an advantage in this "competition" (whatever it turns out to be).  The other thing is that the Bears have a HUGE investment in him, but not Foles.  He says he has been working hard on his mechanics, etc. in the offseason, so give him a fair chance to prove it under game conditions.  It is like sinking a 4-foot putt on the practice green -- a lot easier than doing it on the course in a tournament (ask Spieth).  Is the "new and improved" Trubisky going to revert to bad form under pressure -- the only way to know is to put him to the test.
