I hope that’s not the case! He’s an absolute joy to watch on the field making throws that 1 fanbase salivates over. The other 31 fan bases are jealous and want to find their next Mahomes!
Though he could be a player who gets out of football early with their minds and body mostly intact. Who would have guessed Patrick Willis, Megatron, Luke Kuechly, Andrew Luck, etc. would walk away in the prime of their career?
I agree w/ all of you guys, he's truly a joy to watch and I wish him all the best in KC, which is a very cool franchise btw.
W/ that being said, I don't think teams should use him as an example yet. There are different kinds of QBs that can be successful in Football and Mahomes happens to be one of them. I just don't think teams should now focus their search on prospects that are just like him because God knows how long he can keep on playing like that. Not to mention, it's way too early to tell if he's the real deal. There have been plenty of players w/ one or two great seasons before they turned out to be major disappointments.
Keep in mind, just two years ago, everybody wanted to find their next young McVay and Goff. How did that turn out?
I like Mahomes a lot and think he's also a great leader in the locker room but only time will tell if he truly is the next Brady.

+1
And we don't need the next Brady. I'd be satisfied (seriously) with a 2nd tier talent guy who can be consistently decent-but-not-great. I figure the Trubisky draft is past and there isn't anything we can do about that, other than hope he's a late bloomer kind of guy. If he is a bust though, hey, just get back in the game and start pulling the draft trigger again. Eventually the Bears should be able to draft a 2nd tier talent for QB. Even a blind squirrel sometimes finds the nut.
LOL, maybe Pace needs to attack this like he did the kicker crisis after the double-doink. Invite about a dozen QBs to camp to fight it out :-)
