I think there is no real way to know what his kid can be based on last year. the O was a complete mess. But if Nagy isn't going to use the RB much then it might never matter; and we might not ever know what he could be.
I do think he can thrive on a few plays if the OL and passing game are in place, but I doubt he ever gets a shot a 1k+ yards.
I mean he had basically 900 yards this season. I don't see why 1k yards is out of the question if the o line improves and the offense overall improves.

If the O is clicking like it's supposed to he might not get the amount of touches, but more rec then rushing, or might get around the same amount but again w/more rec. I just don't think it's ever going to be that kind of role in the Nagy O.

I agree that trying to assess Monty is pretty hopeless at this time. The run-blocking was poor last year, the run scheme was even worse, and Trubisky's inability to consistently hit any pass beyond 10 yards from the LOS that wasn't a stop route allowed defenses to bunch up close.
I was particularly disappointed in Nagy not finding ways to get more balls to Monty (and Davis) in the passing game. That's the main reason why both of them were brought in and a big reason why Jordan Howard was shipped out (remember how JH's lack of receiving prowess "didn't fit the scheme"?). We all bought that excuse hook, line, and sinker, myself included, and then Nagy promptly didn't throw the ball to the backs he brought in to replace JoHo.

Well I know what we could do. Get ourselves a FB. And not just any FB but a fullback named Bradley Sowell. He can play OL so he can block. Played TE so he has hands and can pick up a blitz. Why not make him beef up a bit and just use him as an a Fridge back.
We can also teach him the tree and have him as a swing QB.

I agree, i would have liked to see Nagy find more opportunity for Monty in the passing game. Offensive snap count wise, Monty had a 57% and Cohen had a 50% snap count for the offense, yet Cohen had 104 pass targets for the year while Monty had 35....Nagy made his Rb's one dimensional in a way.
Imo Nagy went through the Hester syndrome with Cohen last year, and if he doesn't fix that aspect of his coaching then it won't matter lol

If he increases his production by .3 yards he could get 1k yards with 12 less carries.

Montgomery had 9 more targets than Howard had in 18, and Cohen had 18 more targets than he had in 18.

Perhaps the Mighty Sowell can also produce a CoronaVirus vaccine too.
I think he's great after contact, a willing blocker and a threat catching the ball. Love to see the bears trying to use him, Patterson and/or Cohen on the field at the same time. He could score 10 tds next season if the speed we have at wr stretches defenses.

If there is a chance we can all sit and enjoy a Bears game together. I don't see the harm in him trying?πΊπ₯π·π
