So yesterday I did some of the O positions of need this team has, but I think there are equally some holes at CB and SS that the team needs to fill so lets look them over. These are long lists b/c I want people to recognize how there will be some names they know that aren't necessarily a good fit for the Bears b/c of scheme fit.
Pagano is pretty good and making anyone work, Fuller is a great example, he prefers more of a soft cover play off and break at the ball where Pagano would rather have press corners, but he makes it work. This also played off Prince really well b/c Prince was a shut down man press cover guy, limiting the qb's early options. If the front 7 got pressure chances were Prince's guy wasn't going to be open, but Fullers guy would at least look it. But I think we'll see the Bears looking for another press guy to again compliment Fuller, no zone soft cover guys.
As stated in the OG thread, if you watch college football, feel free to add your opinions on these players, i'm strictly going off how drafttek ranks them, and how nfl.com scouts them, I don't watch much college football
Again top 100 and 101 to 200, starting at players ranked at 32.

A.J. TERRELL CLEMSON CB
HEIGHT6'1" WEIGHT 195lbs
Overview
Long, press-man cornerback with thin lowers, but good overall size. Terrell has the foot agility and patience to pedal and mirror the release or jab and ride on it aggressively. He's an above-average athlete with quick burst to close out space in tight quarters, but he's not a classic click-and-close talent from off-man and issues with balance prevent sudden stops to shadow at the top of the route. The size and ability to hound 50/50 balls deserve recognition, but he lacks ballhawking traits, which could cap him as an average future starter.
*Sounds like a guy similar, to what Prince was for the Bears, and not what Prince was coming out and in his prime. Doesn't sound like a ton of upside, but I don't think you tend to find that in the 2nd and later rounds unless something happened along the lines of attitude or inj.

DAMON ARNETTE OHIO STATE CB
HEIGHT6'0" WEIGHT 195lbs
Overview
Inside/outside cornerback with NFL size and strength but a lack of fluidity and burst that might make him best-suited as a zone corner. Arnette will be at a disadvantage against vertical jackrabbits and will struggle to stay connected to NFL routes in man. However, he plays with good awareness in space and has the physicality in run support that zone defenses look for. His potential and success could be directly tied to what a team asks of him, which makes his evaluation and grade more of a sliding scale depending upon scheme fit.
*Not what I think the Bears are looking for.

JAYLON JOHNSON UTAH CB
HEIGHT 6'0" WEIGHT 193 lbs
Overview
Boundary bully with an improving skill set to clamp down on WR1s and limit their exposure to the football. Johnson is built for press, with the size, length and athleticism to force receivers to work harder getting into their routes. His eagerness to stay tight to the route leads to inconsistent balance and positioning from time to time, but his foot quickness and agility allow for rapid recoveries. He's equipped to play the deep ball but needs to fully prove himself in that area. He's a physical press corner with off-man ability whose anticipation and ball skills should continue to help him make plays as a CB1 and first-round pick.
*IMO this is a great parring w/Fuller in this Pagno def.

BRYCE HALL VIRGINIA CB
HEIGHT 6'1" WEIGHT 202 lbs
Overview
Angular outside corner who uses instinctive footwork and long arms to close out and challenge a healthy percentage of throws. His backpedal and transitions are more functional than fluid and could be exploited by NFL route-runners and speedsters. His reactive quickness and ball skills fit nicely into zone-based coverages, allowing greater freedom to spy quarterbacks and squeeze short and intermediate throws. He can handle man coverage, but he needs protection over the top. Hall is a future starting cornerback but might garner attention at free safety at some point in his career.
*He could be a nice guy oppo Fuller or the guy that could shift and play for Fuller if he gets hurt, problem is I think Jackson at FS tends to be backing up Fuller b/c Fuller tends to go for the pick and can miss and he does that b/c he knows Jackson is backing him up. Not sure this is the guy

JEFF GLADNEY TEXAS CHRISTIAN CB
HEIGHT 5'10" WEIGHT 191 lbs
Overview
Press cover irritant who plays an extremely competitive brand of football from snap to whistle. He has the twitch and route anticipation to stay close. Possesses ball skills to contest a good percentage of throws. His coverage traits should allow him to thrive in man or zone, but his desire to make every play on the ball could lead him into occasional bait-and-switch traps by smart quarterbacks. He's slender so teams will need to decide whether to play him outside or in sub-packages, but no matter where he plays, this ball-hawking alpha has the talent to help his team on all three downs if needed.
*This guy feels like a perfect match.

CAMERON DANTZLER MISSISSIPPI STATE CB
HEIGHT 6'2" WEIGHT 188lbs
Overview
Very long, stringy cornerback with surprising strength and a competitive mindset that had quarterbacks looking for easier battles elsewhere. He looks to suffocate and contest the route from start to finish and does an excellent job of maintaining phase in the vertical plane. His cover style will draw attention from NFL game officials early on, but the athleticism and length should allow him to trust his technique. He won't give up many explosive plays through the air, but is a high-risk tackler in run support and needs to do a better job of wrapping and finishing. Dantzler can play in a variety of coverages but is a future starter as a confident press-man corner with early starting potential.
*Another perfect fit imo. Could definitely see the team going OT/OG and CB in the 2nd, or 3rd if they trade down.

SHYHEIM CARTER ALABAMA S
HEIGHT 5'10" WEIGHT 194 lbs
Overview
Potential role as a dime defender who can line up at slot or as a high safety. Carter doesn't play with the speed or suddenness to match up as a nickel cornerback, so a full-time move to safety would be in his best interest. He plays with adequate instincts and pattern recognition but needs to run well as the play speed on tape may not inspire confidence from defensive coordinators looking for better range over the top.
*Not the guy the team will be looking for
