Nothing against Floyd from me... he was a starter for his time here and played decent, but I am ticked off that Pace traded up to get him - and he doesn't even stick to the roster. Not a big deal. Misses happen - even with a top-10 pick of the draft. But LOL, I'm gettin' hyper-sensitive about Pace being a bit frivolous with the draft picks.
I wouldn't even say decent. The man regressed every year in sacks. Having only 3 sacks last year with KHALIL MACK on the opposite side of you is unacceptable. The guy is a bust no matter what the Pace apologists have said about him.
Never liked the signing since Day One. He'll always be known as Gumby for me:
This article has a great video breakdown on Quinn its about 18 minutes long but well worth watching. Talks about the rule of 3 (3 pass rushers) and how we may play more nickel to fully utilize Quinn. Thinks are Defense will be great.

Well...thankfully you don't get paid for your analysis. You wouldn't call him decent, but you wanted to move heaven and earth to acquire Beasely from Atlanta.

Beasely at least shown he could reach those heights while also having 8 sacks last year compared to Floyd's 3. Floyd has regressed every year he's been here and no matter how much Pace bs about his love for his coverage ability, we got a guy who's main job is to go after the QB...
Pace is officially 0 for 2 on his first 2 draft picks and looking to be 0 for 3 real soon with Trubisky.

LMAO!!! You can't be 0 for 2 when one of them was a key contributor on one of the best defenses in the league. That math doesn't make sense. Beasely averages 2 more sacks a season than Floyd does basically...and thats including his extra year with never again reproduced 15.5 sacks.

How was a guy who was LET GO a "Key Contributor" to one of the best defenses in the league? When Hicks went down last year he did NOTHING. When Mack and Hicks were playing in 2018 he did NOTHING...
Great video of what Quinn brings into the Bears that Floyd does not...

Come on man.....
Putting Beasley aside, it's kind of a stretch to call Floyd "a key contributor on one of the best defenses in the league". He's not a bad player I agree but that's an overstatement.
He was so "key" that his own team didn't want to re-sign him. He was so "key" that his own team rescinded his 5th year option (which was a mistake obviously in the first place) and lost a certain comp pick in the process. He was so "key" that his team immediately replaced him with a player that is several years OLDER. He was so "key" that the LA Rams only gave him a 1 year contract for $10m. Apparently, Floyd's market across the league wasn't that great.
Floyd is a solid player and decent starter we all agree. But when you consider he was a top-10 pick we traded UP to get, it wasn't a spectacular return on investment. I'd give it a C- grade as a draft pick.

Well...Vic Beasley was let go, yet you've wanted him forever, so thats a really bad argument by you. Hicks was let go...using your logic I guess he wasn't a key contributor. Mack was let go(traded), so I guess he wasn't a key contributor. Prince was let go...so I guess he wasn't a key contributor. Trevathan was let go...so I guess he wasn't a key contributor either. A-Rob was let go...I guess he isn't that important either on offense...see where I'm going here?
As for Quinn...I'm glad we signed him. I always said I was fine replacing Floyd as long as it was someone who was better...Quinn is better.

Was he a starter on a top defense in the league? Yes? Ok...then he was key. In a league where only 53 make the roster and 46 dress, if you start on a top 10 defense, you're key. You can try to argue around that all you want, it doesn't change that fact...unless you're trying to argue it wouldn't matter who started in that spot...is that what you're trying to argue?
